Chapter 1

Y/n's POV

The soft morning light filtered through the sheer white curtains, casting warm, golden rays that danced across the room, illuminating the walls with a gentle glow. I could hear my mother’s familiar voice echoing from the doorway, a mix of warmth and urgency in her tone. “Piper, it’s time to get up,” she called gently, her words floating through the air like a soft melody, hoping to coax me from the depths of my slumber. “Just five more minutes, Mum…” I mumbled, burying my face deeper into the plush pillow, pulling the covers snugly over my head as if they could shield me from the responsibilities of the day. But that tone – sharp, unwavering, and filled with the promise of consequences – was one I knew far too well.“Y/N L/N, get up now!” she said, her voice firm, now laced with an edge of insistence that brooked no argument. The urgency in her call seeped through my sleepy haze like cold water on a warm day, sending jolts of adrenaline through my body. I opened my eyes wide, panic flooding in as I realized I had pushed my luck once too often.“Yes, Mum!” I exclaimed, fumbling to push the heavy covers aside. I swung my legs over the edge of the bed, my feet meeting the cool wooden floor, the chill making me shiver as I prepared for the day ahead. “What time is it?” I managed to ask, my voice still thick with sleep.“It’s 3:00 PM,” Mum replied, her voice retreating as she left the room to give me space to get dressed, the faint sound of her footsteps fading down the hallway. With a resigned sigh, I got up, shaking off the remnants of sleep clinging to my mind. I shuffled over to my wardrobe, rummaging through the assorted piles of clothes. I pulled out a worn graphic t-shirt, a pair of faded jeans, and a lightweight jacket that would protect me from the slight chill outside. After some effort, I slipped into each piece, feeling more awake with every movement. The fabric felt comforting against my skin, and I took a moment to steel myself for whatever lay ahead.
