"This was one of the cleanest, best written stories up here. Language skills immaculate (possibly a native English speaker, if not, respect), culturally it made sense as it did explain/justify the meekness of the FLC without making her out to be an idiot. The MLC was also reasonably cold but not fully obnoxious or cruel, the story made sense, there is a sense of psychology, this is one of my favourites, for real. And surely not overly dragged. Only one instance where it seemed like the author has missed a previous detail (like MLC mother was supposed to have died in the accident but later mentions her screams when the MLC received the phone call about her death?) but overall, great work. "

"I thoroughly enjoyed reading 'The Woman He Bought'. Elara and Lucien made for compelling protagonists; their histories were quite tragic, which gave them real depth. The story held my attention from the start, beginning with Lucien’s quest for vengeance against Elara’s aunt and uncle. It was quite compelling to watch his motivations shift from cold calculation to genuine protectiveness once he uncovered the heart-wrenching trauma from her past and realized just how deeply their lives had been linked by tragedy. My only small gripe was that the villainous aunt and uncle didn't face a more spectacular downfall. Given their role in the deaths of the protagonists' parents, I was hoping for a karmic justice like 'Final Destination' type, IYKYK. That said, the epilogue was lovely, and it was heartening to see the couple build a happy, growing family. I do find myself curious if Elara ever made it to Paris to catch a glimpse of the Eiffel Tower. All in all, it was a delightful book and I am certainly looking forward to picking up more of this author's work in the future. Best of luck to them with their writing."

"I thought the book flowed well, until the end. It seemed the relationship near the end was rushed and I didn’t read that the relationship had grown closer, accepting, romantic, etc. It seemed of “sudden” that it was a year anniversary and they were getting remarried."

"This is a strange story, the premise intrigued me so I gave it a shot. I know how these things usually play out and to avoid the abuse scenes I started at chapter five, then after finishing it went back and read the first four chapters. The basic plot is a girl who loses both parents at age 15, is taken in by her Uncle and Aunt, who despise her, and is married off to a billionaire to settle some debts the Uncle holds. But we never get enough information to know what is going on, we get pieces and glimpses into her life before she is sold off, and even that action is never fully explained in the beginning. She isn't mistreated by the male lead but she isn't welcomed either. The staff try to help her but seem too afraid of upsetting the master of the house to really be an influence on her life. Then the Grandmother comes in that raises the young master, she's everything you would hope a Grandma to be...she's warm, thoughtful, insightful and takes a liking to the wife fairly quickly...so much so that when she suffers an event that lands her in the hospital for a bit..the grandma lays down the law to the young master to either shape up, or she will do it for him. The story evolves a bit here, we learn why he married her, why he is cold, what his plans are going forward. But even though he thaws a bit he still holds her at arms length. It ends well but a decent amount of the vengeance to her abusers is told off screen, which destroys the satisfaction you would normally get from this type of story. Normally these stories have highs and lows, the abuse doesn't need to be on screen, it's usually more powerful if you have to hear about it without actually witnessing it, but the vengeance part is usually told first person, whereas this story dealt with it in third person or after the fact views. I can't decide if the way it is portrayed is just so unique that I can't quantify it, or if the lack of direct results for her abusers just hits wrong. Maybe a combination of both. The male leads reactions to his wife and her safety, especially after he realized they may come for her hit wrong. He didn't lack for resources, but seemed to deliberately put her out as bait and that goes against type for this sort of character. I normally read shifter stories and the one thing Alpha's have in common with their mates is the " touch her and die" mantra. The male lead didn't act that way and I have no idea why not. He could have protected her far better then he did when the dangerous event happened. I have zero idea why he didn't and it doesn't sit well with me. It's a decent story, but it's a one of. Read it once and move on. IMO. "
