Truce
It had been two weeks since Wendy had disappeared, and Natsu hadn’t been the same since, well, sort of. He’d been training so much that he barely had any time to eat, or even sleep. He’s also been avoiding the Ares cabin like the plague, still angry at his supposed ‘father’ for one, not stepping in when he was needed, and two, never once trying to even remotely be in his life.
His team had taken up residence in the Hermes cabin, much to the annoyance of Mr D. Natsu didn’t really care about much right now. All he wanted was to be strong enough to save his ‘little sister’.
“You know you aren’t going to help her like that, right?” asked Clarisse, who had been watching Natsu train for the last few hours now.
Natsu scoffed, never once stopping his fiery attacks on the training dummies, which were long charred by now. “And what’s it to you, miss ‘let them die’?” He retorted, clearly still mad about how she treated his friends during the incident.
Clarisse sighed. “Hades forbid a girl wants to apologize.” she grumbled. Natsu paused at that, his fire flickering for a moment. “Did Chiron put you up to this?” He asked warily.
Clarisse glared at him. “Excuse you?!” She exclaimed, how dare he?! Natsu sighed. “Just answer the question, Clarisse.” He mumbled. He wasn’t in the mood for arguing. Hell, he hadn’t even thrown a punch at Gray the past two weeks.
Clarisse’s gaze, for once, softened. “The apology? No. But he did send me to check on you, as your half-sister and all.” She stated, her tone for once as gentle as her gaze.
Natsu stared at her. That’s a first. He may have only been here two weeks, but he didn’t take Clarisse as the type to apologize.
Natsu couldn’t help but smile—his first genuine one in a whole two weeks. He offered a hand. “Truce?” He asked gently.
Clarisse hesitated only for a moment before grasping Natsu’s hand in her own.
“Truce.” She said gently, shaking his hand.
