ASHES AT 3 A.M.

Summary

In a world where shadows conceal more than secrets, a forbidden power stirs beneath the veil of night. Ashes at 3 AM are said to mark the hour when dreams and reality collide, and no one knows this better than the one they call Razel. Haunted by visions of a demon that no one else can see, Razel must navigate a life teetering on the edge of the known and the unknown. Each night brings whispers of danger, promises of power, and the lure of truths too dark to face by daylight. As Razel uncovers the threads binding the human world to the realm of the forbidden, she finds herself entangled with forces that test not only her courage but the very essence of her soul. The demon is not just a shadow on the wall—it is a mirror of desire, fear, and the choices she refuses to acknowledge. With allies who may not be what they seem, enemies disguised as friends, and a destiny written in fire and ash, Razel must decide what she is willing to risk for freedom, truth, and a chance to claim the power that could either save or destroy her. Every heartbeat, every whispered secret, and every flicker of fire brings her closer to a truth she cannot escape: some dreams are forbidden for a reason, yet some must be chased no matter the cost. Dark, gripping, and unrelenting, this story invites readers into a world where courage is measured by the shadows you face and the light you dare to ignite. Will Razel succumb to the darkness within, or will she rise, reborn from the ashes, to claim a fate only whispered of in nightmares?

The Beginning

Razel Salvatore, the princess of Scotland.

She always wished for freedom—but she never knew that one day, this very wish would lead her to death.

It was a cold, snowy day. White snow covered the land like a silent blanket. The world outside was calm and peaceful, yet inside the castle, chaos lived within the walls.

“Father, I told you a hundred times that I don’t want to marry anyone,” Razel said, her voice shaking as she argued with her father.

“And I also told you a hundred times that you have to marry him,” her father replied sternly. “He is a good man, the prince of the United States. He is perfect for you.”

“You always order me, Father,” Razel snapped, her eyes burning with frustration. “I always did everything you asked of me, but now this is my entire life! You never gave me freedom. You never let me step outside this castle. I have never seen the world beyond these walls.”

Her voice broke.

“You never cared about what I wanted.”

Silence filled the room.

“Enough,” her father said coldly. “You will marry him. That is my final decision.”

He turned away, stepped out of her chamber, and locked the door behind him.

“Father!” Razel ran to the door, pounding on it with her fists. “Open the door! Father!”

No answer.

Her breathing grew heavy. Tears streamed down her face as she slowly turned around—and that’s when she noticed the window.

Snowflakes drifted outside, dancing in the cold wind.

She walked toward it, her heart pounding painfully in her chest.

“You left me no choice,” she whispered, her voice trembling.

With one last look at the room she had been trapped in her entire life, Razel climbed out of the window, jumped down into the snow—and ran.

She didn’t look back.
