What is your opinion?
Gas Station, kitten, vampires... what more does you need?
"Angry kitten who is the real star of the book - check two coworkers who find each other and start a relationship, check feeling sympathetic to fellow gas station employees who suffer the same crap I do, double check having a vampire who doesn't know his real age, can't remember most of his past, has decided Matt and his human coworkers are under his protection - that goes above and beyond what I thought I'd find. I knew any story by this author would be amazing and she doesn't disappoint. Hope you enjoy!"
Fabulous
"Fantastic setting and writing style. Classic and imaginative in one utterly engaging story"
These characters ..... such a slow (sun)burn
"Alex doesn't remember his age or origins, Matt doesn't fear him.... but maybe he should. Their relationship, despite some fun "spice", is the slowest of burns. A truly ancient amnesiatic vampire slumming and selling scratchies and snacks in an overnight convenience store should not work as a literary construct, forming a relationship with an initially flaky mortal co-worker shouldn't work, adopting (or being adopted by...) a feral kitten shouldn't work..... but it just does, so well. A brilliant illustration of an epically powerful and ancient being, not as something to fear or admire, but as a flawed, and perpetually lonely person. Love it."
Immortal, minimum wage.
"A very interesting saga about an extremely old vampire with some dementia symptoms, and an astute new human companion. The witty staccato dialogue shows how their relationship develops rapidly from meeting, to full commitment. A good read, thank you."
