Synopsis

Armando Sciacca is fixated on being more than a nameless soldier in the New Orleans Family. He’d do anything to achieve it until he gets distracted by Eleanora’s pretty eyes, a tailoress and the daughter of a made man

Together, they navigate the road of power, greed, and wrath, only to see their marriage tested by past enemies. Together, they’ll discover how their shortcomings stare back at them when the children they raise and guide lead lives full of sin.They thought love was enough to raise the second generation. But it wasn’t.

In the end, it’s Eleanora who pays the price for her husband’s ambitions.

Bam!

Instantly, Eleanora gripped the kitchen knife as her eyes flew to the door that was kicked open. When she saw Armando pointing a gun at her, her visage split into a heart-stopping smile.

“Hi, Armando,” the sweet lilt in her voice caused him to smile.

“Eleanora,” he said with a mixture of relief and exasperation.

Only she would welcome me like that while I’m holding her at gunpoint,Armando thought before lowering his gun, sliding it into the waistband of his trousers.

“Were you expecting someone else?” He looked at the knife she clutched in her hand.

The reminder made her put the kitchen knife on the counter behind her. Then she shrugged, saying, “Just in case a thief came inside.”

Armando arched a brow at her, wondering if she was hearing herself. “I’ll be honest, Eleanora, I didn’t think you’d be myguestwhen I saw the door frame. Why break in?”

The New Orleans Family Series

The Outfit War is the first installment of The New Orleans Family series.

This series takes place in the same world — although not at the same time — as Promised for Truce, so if you’ve read that one you’ll recognize some nice and not-so-nice faces! That said, you don’t need to read Promised for Truce to understand The Outfit War, since it’s a standalone.

Warning

This story contains strong language (curse words, slurs etc.), violence, abuse, racism, sexism and mention of stillbirth.

Also, there will be romance, but no smut. I know, crazy, right?! I’m warning you, so I want no complaining later on. Anyways, I think the chemistry between the leads will make up for it! :)

The story is split into 5 parts. Starting from part II, there will be timeskips. The story as a whole spans from the 60s to the 90s.
