Author's Note
Hi, loves 🤍
This is my second book.
This time, it’s completely original.
It’s darker.
More intense.
But there will be love.
There will be comfort.
There will be softness slowly, carefully, the way it’s meant to unfold.

Elaris Valdes was trained to eliminate threats not bake cinnamon rolls. At nineteen, she walked away from classified missions, from blood on her hands, from the unbearable weight of lives lost and saved. Her parents wanted her to experience something normal. Something soft. Something untouched by violence. So she left. She opened a small café-bakery, choosing sugar over gunpowder. Quiet mornings over coded briefings. Peace was supposed to be permanent. It wasn’t. The government still calls. Still asks. Still reminds her that some skills are never forgotten. Elaris tells herself she’s done with that life. One day, she wants to adopt a child and build the kind of loving family she was lucky enough to grow up in. Love? She’s never believed it was meant for her. Until the Montenegro family walks into her café. And everything changes. Dante Montenegro is not a man people approach without a reason. To the world, he is a billionaire businessman cold, composed, untouchable. Behind closed doors, he is something far more dangerous. At twenty-five, he commands loyalty with silence and fear with a single look. He protects his family with ruthless devotion and destroys anything that threatens what belongs to him. Women want him. Enemies fear him. No one challenges him. Until a nineteen-year-old café owner looks him in the eye and doesn’t flinch. His mother adores her. His sisters claim her. The youngest refuses to leave her side. And Dante? He becomes curious. Then protective. Then something far more dangerous. Because Elaris Valdes is not afraid of him. She studies him. Measures him. Moves like someone who knows how to survive monsters. For the first time, Dante wants something he cannot control. But obsession has consequences. When whispers begin to circle his empire and unseen forces start moving in the dark, Dante is forced to face a truth: The girl who feels like peace might be standing at the center of a storm. Is she his weakness? Or his greatest threat? Because loving a Montenegro has never been safe. And this time… The danger might not be coming for her. It might be coming because of her.

Miriam: I liked the way the plot was set up and then the relationship progressed. Some may not like the discretion but it all led up to a very happy ending with a bit of suspense leading up to it. Definitely a cliffhanger. Waiting for a follow-up.

Sharda: I really enjoyed the pace of this story. It was mostly realistic, but It was tough to wrap my head around that a 13-year-old boy would be so intuitive and a friend to his mom. My 13-year-old daughter is super smart and says I am her best friend so I guess it is possible. I struggled because boys usu...
