Summary

Summary: Sarah and Mathew’s marriage is on the edge. Distance, stress, and miscommunication have created tension, leaving Sarah feeling unheard and Mathew struggling to provide while losing connection with his family. When Sarah’s bold best friend Samantha arrives unexpectedly, she immediately senses the cracks in their relationship, adding both scrutiny and pressure. A birthday celebration for their daughter Amaya becomes a turning point. Mathew realizes the cost of his absence and the fear of losing Sarah, prompting him to make heartfelt gestures: flowers, a home-cooked dinner, a month off work, and a surprise trip to London. In London, away from distractions and stress, the couple slowly rebuilds trust, reconnects emotionally, and discovers the quiet power of presence, honesty, and love. By the end, forgiveness is earned, bonds are strengthened, and they learn that choosing each other again is more important than any material success.

Chapter 1

Scene 1 – The Mansion

Mathew: Hi.

Sarah: Hey… you look stressed. Are you okay?

Mathew: I’m fine. Just tired. But seeing you helps.

Sarah: Are you hungry?

Mathew (half-smiling): Always.

Sarah: I was thinking… maybe we could take a trip to London. Just us. And Amaya.

Mathew: I’d love that. I really would. But I’m busy right now.

Sarah: You’re always busy. Amaya misses you. You’re barely home anymore.

(Mathew’s tone suddenly sharpens.)

Mathew: I’m trying to provide for this family! Everything we have didn’t just fall from the sky. I worked hard for it.

Sarah (softly): Please don’t yell. I’m not trying to argue.

Mathew: Then don’t make it sound like I’m failing.

(Silence fills the room.)

Sarah: I’ll go check on Amaya. She should be asleep by now.

Mathew (quietly): Kiss her for me.

Sarah: I will.
