SCALES
Ruth watched as the village of Succor became nothing but a faint memory as they drifted above the clouds.
Dane was gentle for a dragon, but Ruth definitely held on for dear life as they made their way to Dove’s Landing.
The little witch was in awe over the sights of the land that she’d never seen from the skies before.
“So free..” she whispered to herself, but Dane could hear her.
He had the gift of hearing and used it to benefit his ego more than anything.
He felt her heat on his scales, tantalizing his arousal. She’d make a good lay for him, but only at her consent.
Dane was many things, but he wasn’t a dishonorable dragon.
“Gods, he’s so hot..” Ruth smiled to herself, “Shit...compose yourself, Ruthie..”
“Is that what you like to be called? Ruthie?”
“What?” Ruth blushed, “Uh..yeah...of course...”
“Do you like living in the Light Forest?”
“Of course I do,” Ruth said, “It’s the only home I’ve ever known.”
“You fought well against the Undead.”
“You barely fought at all, but that fascinates me.”
“Why should we care what the hell goes on in your world?”
Ruth sighed and leaned in, “Because this is your world, too, Dane.”
Dane said not another word. He was trying to maintain some kind of composure, but it was hard for him considering her heat felt so good on his scales.
“This is everything I dreamed it would be.”
“Do you dream of Golden Top a lot?”
“I do, actually..”
“You’re pretty open for a witch. I thought you all had some kind of code...”
Ruth smiled, “I can be my own person, dragon boy, and I am allowed to tell you whatever I want, but then I might have to kill you.”
Dane chuckled, “I’d like to see you try, witchy woman.”
“We might have to...oh my...” Ruth gazed passed them to the hilltops and mountain roofs of Golden and sighed, “You have so many amazing dragonoids here.”
“What is that?” Dane asked as he eyed something following them below, “Is that a unicorn?”
“She’s my familiar..”
“You have a unicorn as a familiar? Seems like some of your sisters got ripped off with rats and beavers or whatever the fuck they have.”
“Our familiars are wonderful so shut up...” Ruth was in her own world, watching the dragons circling nearby, “Will we meet your family?”
“I took you as a hostage.”
“You took me because you wanted to barter,” Ruth reminded him, “Am I not free to go?”
“I wouldn’t try it,” Dane said, “Or we’ll burn your forest to the ground.”
Ruth frowned, “Mr. Scales is so unhappy—what a grumpy man.. Does Mr. Grumpy Scales need a nap?”
“Shut up, witch before I toss you off..”
Ruth leaned forward and stroked Dane’s head, “You’re not that way, Dane...I feel it in my heart..”
