"The narration pulls you into a world that feels high-stakes🖤 The author has a way of building tension that makes your heart race right along with the characters; I was constantly on edge. Jack was magnetic. I appreciated his quiet strength and the way he expresses his love through protection and sacrifice, especially that heartbreaking moment at the door. On the other hand, Lucy’s father was the most controversial. He is so well-written because you can see his 'paternal' concern, but it’s so laced with control and coldness that you can’t help but root for Lucy to break free from him. Finally, I did not see that ending coming. The way the story jumps forward and resolves was a complete shock, but it provided such an emotional payoff. I liked it!!✨"
