From the very first lines of the prologue, the author does a phenomenal job of establishing the heavy, oppressive mood of the "shadowy court." The author has a strong voice and knows how to pull a reader into a world that feels both dangerous and consuming; the shifting power dynamics and psychological push-and-pull are palpable and keep the stakes feeling incredibly high. A wonderfully gripping, dark, and emotionally heavy story! "
Absolutely Suffocating in a good way!
"I'll be honest, I picked this up for a quick read to pass time without expecting anything. I stayed for the set up of the world but it felt like I was there. The author has an insane ability to stick you into the room with the characters. I've been holding my breath as the steam starts to rise. I've been converted to a fan, especially with the new chapters. I will be recommending to all my book friends. "
