Arc 1: Revival of the Stones - Chapter One

One: The tale of Five Continents

In another universe, beyond the veil of mortal stars, lies the wondrous world of Eternia-a realm of five great continents, each shaped by its own rhythm of life and legend.

*****

Noya - The Desert of Endless Suns

Far to the east, Noya glimmers beneath an eternal sun.

Its endless dunes whisper secrets older than time, shifting like waves of gold across a sea of silence. Many who cross its sands seek wisdom, glory, or treasures buried beneath its mirages-yet the desert grants nothing freely.

When the crimson sun sinks and the stars awaken, the land transforms, bathed in a cold beauty that humbles even the boldest travelers.

*******

Beira - The Kingdom of Frost and Auroras

In the northern reaches lies Beira, a continent of everlasting winter and shimmering skies. Beneath curtains of dancing light, towers of frozen crystal stretch toward the heavens.

The people of Beira have mastered survival in the frost, crafting marvels of ice and light that gleam like jewels beneath the aurora.

From the very lights above, they draw power-ancient machines converting celestial radiance into warmth and life. Beira's brilliance lies not only in its technology, but in the harmony between its people and the frozen world they call home.

*******

Caelum - The Continent Among Clouds

To the far west drifts Caelum, the floating continent suspended among the clouds.

It is a continent of copper and steam, where gears turn to the heartbeat of invention. The people of Caelum have learned to harness the breath of the sky itself-vapor drawn from the clouds, refined into power that fuels their engines and lifts their cities high above the storms.

Their world is a symphony of brass and vapor, where airships glide between spires of glass and iron, and the hum of engines mingles with the whisper of the wind.

To them, the sky is not a boundary-it is their foundation.

******

Lyranthium - The Heart of the World

At the center of Eternia lies Lyranthium, the emerald continent-a land of rolling hills, crystalline rivers, and golden spires that shimmer beneath the sun.

Here, life flourishes in perfect balance, guided by a royal lineage as old as the earth itself. Under their watch, Lyranthium became the bridge between the continents-a place where peace was nurtured and the voices of the world met as one.

******

Perdita - The Lost Continent

Yet even amidst harmony, one bond remained unmade.

To the south lay Perdita-the lost continent, a land of whispers and forgotten ruins. Cut off from the other lands by treacherous seas and endless storms, it became a legend-a name spoken with both wonder and dread.

Ancient stories told of a darkness buried deep within its heart, an entity so powerful that the world itself once trembled before it.

For centuries, that darkness slept.

Until one man awoke it.

His name was Mandrid.

*******

Born with the promise of greatness, Mandrid was told from youth that he would become the next Sorcerer Supreme.

The prophecy kindled a hunger within him—one that grew into obsession. His talent was undeniable; his ambition, unmatched.

The royal family of Lyranthium, seeing his brilliance, welcomed him into their court as advisor to the king.

For a time, his guidance seemed wise, his counsel true. But in the shadows of his heart, corruption had begun to take root.

He studied forbidden magic, whispered incantations to unseen powers, and bent the king's will to his own. Lyranthium, once radiant, began to darken beneath his influence.

Yet his schemes unraveled when the youngest royal-a prince newly returned from Caelum-saw through the illusion.

In the throne room, Mandrid's deceit was laid bare.

Stripped of his rank and cast from the kingdom, he left in fury, vowing vengeance upon the crown that had betrayed him.

********

Exiled and burning with rage, Mandrid turned toward Perdita-the continent of myth.

Legends spoke of a sealed power slumbering beneath its soil, waiting for the blood of one destined for supremacy to set it free.

Mandrid believed himself to be the chosen one. Through storms and shadows he sailed south, guided by whispers only he could hear.

Perdita welcomed him with peril. Beasts born of nightmare stalked the jungles, and the skies wept ash and thunder. But Mandrid pressed on, his magic carving a path through every horror that barred his way.

To him, these creatures were not enemies-they were soldiers yet to be claimed.

At last, deep within a cavern of obsidian, he found the Seal of the Lost One, a relic pulsing with ancient power.

With a blade drawn across his palm, Mandrid let his blood fall upon the sigil and spoke the words that had not been uttered since the dawn of the world.

The earth shuddered.

The seal broke.

And the darkness awoke.

The entity that emerged was no mere shadow-it was power incarnate, bound by hatred and eternity.

In exchange for its freedom, it bestowed upon Mandrid a gift of unholy strength. His veins burned with dark fire, his eyes glowed like molten gold, and his voice carried the echo of the abyss.

From that day forth, Mandrid was no longer man, but conqueror.

From the depths of Perdita, he raised an army of creatures and corrupted souls. His shadow spread across the seas, and the continents trembled as his legions marched, their eyes gleaming with his will.

His message to the world was simple and terrible:

"Eternia will kneel."

*******

The kingdoms of Noya, Beira, Caelum, and Lyranthium-once divided by distance and pride-united beneath a single banner.

The Army of All Nations took to the battlefield, their colors bright against the tide of darkness.

Yet even their combined might could not withstand the storm that followed.

Mandrid's power was boundless, his army unending. Hope waned as cities fell and the world's light dimmed.

*******

Then, at Lyranthium's heart, a miracle stirred.

An ancient entity-the guardian of the world's magic-awoke from its long slumber.

Moved by the courage of humankind, it appeared before the royal family and the leaders of the nations.

Its voice was the sound of wind and water; its presence, blinding yet gentle.

"Five shall rise..."

The entity declared.

"Five hearts, bound by courage and light. Together, they shall stand where armies fall."

The entity chose five champions-heroes from every land, including one of royal blood.

To each, it entrusted a gemstone of power, a fragment of its divine essence. With those stones, the five knights gained strength beyond mortal measure, their spirits intertwined with the magic of Eternia itself.

When the five knights rode to war, the sky blazed with light.

Their power cleaved through darkness; their courage rekindled hope. The final battle shook the heavens, and though the cost was great, Mandrid was defeated-sealed away once more, his empire of shadows undone.

But victory bore a heavy price. The youngest royal-the Knight of Light-fell in battle, giving his life to end the darkness.

The entity appeared one last time, comforting the grieving king and queen.

It blessed the fallen hero's soul and sealed the five gemstones in sacred temples across Lyranthium, where they would await the day they were needed again.

"The children of darkness will rise."

The entity foretold.

"And when they do, five new souls shall revived the stones and the knights once more. Light will return to Eternia."

*******

And so, peace returned to the lands.

Centuries passed.

Legends became whispers.

But destiny never forgets its promise.

Thank you for your kind words. That is my main goal when I started writing this book. This story is inspired by a dream I once had.

After finishing this book, I am in the process in creating a digital artbook, but in the meantime I want to focus on this book.
