A Journey from Survival to Strength
"This story follows Garnet as she escapes an abusive marriage and carefully rebuilds her life from the ground up. What makes her character compelling is not just her vulnerability, but her intelligence — the way she plans her escape, studies people, and learns to read every small detail around her. The dynamic with Tristan and Soren adds another layer of tension. Both men want to protect her, yet in different ways. I especially enjoyed the element of training — watching Garnet move from survival mode into learning how to actively defend herself. Her growth doesn’t feel accidental. It feels earned."

Between the Pages: Intriguing!
"I read the first 11 chapters of this story and think it is off to a fantastic start. This is not your typical wife leaves marriage to build a life elsewhere story. It’s much more rich and complex than that. I am loving Garnet so far - she is a very strong and wise character, watchful and untrusting for good reason considering what she has been through, and the fact that she is still not sure that she is safe. Tristan is an interesting character as well, and I really like the relationship that is beginning to develop between them, although they are both guarded out of necessity. I also like the supporting characters that are coming into play, and I think that the internal conflict and personal histories for all of the characters that are being revealed gives good insight into who they are and the motivations for their actions/decisions. Each chapter is slowly building upon each other with just the right amount of suspense. Great descriptions throughout that make the environment feel realistic and like you are discovering what is happening right along with the characters. I look forward to continuing with the story and seeing where it goes."
