What is your opinion?

Review

"Your writing always hits. I am so happy that I came across this book because some people deserve genuine recognition and Jan Koum is one of them. We can’t spend a day without his app which shows how much he did for us. This is the right time we start considering our heroe’s efforts and remember them and be grateful for their contributions. His idea was unique, a system based on internet that surpassed all the other platforms available. I would highly recommend this book to everyone as this doesn’t bore the reader for a second. It may sound absurd but Brian Acton played a major role in this book. It wouldn’t have been possible without him. Keep writing, I have to check out every book of yours now. "

Great story

"A well written and engaging story that kind of feels like a mystery and a biography. Jan is a sympathetic character and in following his journey towards success you can't help but cheer him on. I wasn't familiar with who he was, so I had fun trying to guess what all the part of his past added up to. The author's writing style really helps you fall into the moments with him. You feel his sadness, disappointment, frustration and joy. Highly recommend."

"Everyone thinks that Jan Koum was did dirty. I agree but in the end it was all for good. He chose peace for himself and privacy for his users. The way his invention is connected with his past, to his father’s death, it hooks the reader and we began to cheer for Jan genuinely. I also loved Brian Acton’s role in Jan’s life. It is truly a 10/10 read, highly recommended. "

WOWWWW!

"SPOILER ALERT DEAR READERSSSSS! What a book!!!! I think the author made me fall in love with historical fiction. Jan Koum's story has been narrated so brilliantly. We see Jan Koum's initial reason to work was for his mother, for his father, who was no longer there. He wanted to provide a good life for his mother. He started working at a platform that starts with Y. There, he met many amazing people, especially his lifelong best friend Brian, who remained his friend through thick and thin. Jan Koum made Y a better place. He introduced many significant changes and earned a lot of respect. During this time, seeing platforms like F Jan also built a desire to create a similar platform that would make it easy for people to message without spending dollars just to contact. Initially, he built a status app, but it didn't turn out to be the way he planned. With the help of his friend Brian and his supporters, despite giving up multiple times, he ended up going on a vacation, yet Jan still got up and worked hard to achieve his dream. And after years of working hard, he finally built the platform W that changed the way we see the world today. Initially, Jan never charged money, not because he didn't want to, but because he built it for the people, and he didn't want them to be burdened. But at one point, he started taking one dollar for something I don't remember, on the saying of Brian, so that they could manage the expenses of W. Then came another challenging phase of Jan's life when Mark asked him to sell W. Despite the huge sums of money, he refused because Jan didn't want the people who used W to be used as a product. Mark promised him that he wouldn't do that. Keep in mind, Jan and Brian were working at F at that time. But Mark didn't stay true to his promises, and when Jan and Brian found that, they retired from F because no matter what, their people, their morals mattered more than money. Jan donated the huge amount of money he had earned to charity donations, and he and Brian finally retired after long years of hard work. And the author delivered each of the emotions, each of the scenes, brilliantly. The weight of each scene could be felt deeply. The author did a great job writing this. I loved how Jan and Brian stayed together side by side, never giving up and supported each other. If even one had given up, we wouldn't have W today. Once again the Author wonderfully wrote the book. One of the author's best works. Keep up the great work, author! Hoping to see u win"

Review

"Jan Koum — a legendary icon who needs more attention. To me, his platform was just a messaging app. But every successful story has a background. The story starts with an emotional touch, making the readers connect with the character. I felt so bad when Jan lost his father and he couldn’t even talk to him. No one deserves to lose a loved one like that —especially a father. His mother’s death could have been explored more but since our main focus was his platform, an idea about it also worked. I loved how the timeline worked in this novel. It was my first ever read on inkitt and I absolutely loved it. The novel never gets boring, thanks to Brian Acton for his humor. I am glad I came across this book and learned about this true legend. What happened to him at the end was bad but at least he accomplished his purpose of connecting people. Morever, the research author did for this book is truly commendable. The technicalities, the research, description and the allignment with true history, everything was just amazing. I would highly recommend this book to everyone."

Untitled 🤭😝

"I was honestly being pretty casual about the w-word (iykyk). Like, it’s a messaging app, no biggie. I never even heard a thing ability how it was created. Thankfully, I came across this book. Jan Koum tells the story of... Freddie Mercury 😑. Okay, let’s get this out of the way, Jan Koum is about Jan Koum, no kidding, surprise surprise 😐. The creator of the most popular messaging app today. It shows how he went from a poverty-struck teenager struggling to even send a message to his dying father to a legend that’s not talked about enough. In twelve chapters, we saw the journey from start to finish. It was a nice, easy read that progressed quite naturally. It would flow really smoothly in a movie format, you know? Anyway, by the end of the book, I realized why he’s a bit obscure. It’s because he didn’t give in to corporate greed and stood by his ideals. [Redacted] wanted to breach the privacy of his users and incorporate adds into his app, but he held his ground and went out with dignity. He sacrificed fame and money for his ideals, his primary motivation to make sure people can enjoy private, instant, easily accessible communication, the luxury he couldn’t afford many years ago. I’m grateful to you for letting me know about this great man. Thanks a bunch 😁. Though it does feel weird reading a biography. THERE ARE NO CHARACTERS TO MOCK, MAKE FUN OF, AND SLANDER MERCILESSLY 😭😭😭😭!!! WHERE ARE MY MUSTAFAS?! MY JOES?! MY HARISES 😭😭😭😭😭?!"

Great read!

"I think this is a great short read. It’s a story that I didn’t think I would get into because of the technology aspect, but it turned out great. The opening was heavy and a lot of his life was rough but I think that’s what made his success so great. I love that he started a charity too. I would recommend this quick read to anyone interested in technology and communication ❤️"

JAN KOUM

"Biographies were never my thing until I encountered a writer whose talent made exploring someone’s life story truly engaging and joyful. I deeply admire Brian Acton and Jan Koum. It would be wonderful to hear a story from Brian’s perspective. You’re doing a fantastic job so far. My only suggestion is to keep writing—your words can really touch many lives. I look forward to reading your other books as well. "

History

"People don't like history but I love it. I love it because it connects people to their past, to their roots. The real problem rises when the writer makes it boring. But you did exactly the opposite. You made it engaging and even made us laugh at times. This requires writing grip and you nailed it. Coming to Jan's story now, the story is very well written and interesting. It feels like we are living in Jan Koum’s world and began to root for his mission. I am amazed how you build up such a start storyline especially the start. You connected the readers with that emotional start. We see Jan being emotional and feeling helpless and then it turns out to be his biggest strength. He wants to “connect” people. And then we saw him doing it, so inspirational. A man who never stopped working. Initially, he just created a status app, and this was a new piece of information for me. A real story teaches us lessons, Jan Koum’s journey has taught me too. I can’t wait for the next chapters. The book has hooked me really hard. Please do yourself a favour and read this."

"So far so good. In fact, it can be a perfect adaption for a movie. At least, as a reader, I felt that. Here are the few reasons for it: Description is strong but not too long. Jan Koum has a whole personality within himself that maies his character highly relatable at times. Jan Koum has a motivation to work. His struggle feels personal and the dialogue is strong. I really want to see how things go for him. You’re such a talented author. I might have to check out all of your other books👏. "

What's App, Jan?

"Meet Jan Koum. Smart, educated and with a knack for making broken systems work again. Unfortunately, this skill does not prevent the death of his father, an event that devastates him. Jan, determined to support his grieving mother and escape poverty, accepts an opportunity at Yahoo, where his talent for solving impossible technical problems begin to change his life forever. Abeer, author of 'Voice' and what is still my favorite novel of hers, 'The Necklace' (unfortunately it's not available on Inkitt anymore 😕) Jan Koum becomes a three-dimensional character under Abeer's treatment, complete with faults (He likes to blame himself and drive the people who surround him a bit too hard) as well as a steely determination that makes you want him to succeed in the end. This is not my favorite Abeer Novel. (I still love and miss 'The Necklace') but I dare say it's her best written yet! "

"Some people really make history - Jan Koum is the biggest example of it. I am truly impressed realising that how a person can make such a great software that is still connecting people throughout. The emotional start, Jan losing his father is such a powerful start for this novel. The author's grip and the way she wrote it, I am truly impressed. Keep up writing. "
