Prologue - The Marriage Certificate
I glanced at the eyes staring at me. The room was thick with anticipation, like a crowd at a boxing match or the World Cup, which only served to make me more nervous. As for the man beside me... for heaven’s sake! Is he the groom or a statue? He’s so still.
He was nothing like the image he projects on TV.
The Minister of Education.
“Could I have an hour to prepare myself?” I pleaded, looking around desperately.
Everyone frowned, their silent glares pressing in on me. I could read my mom’s expression perfectly: ‘Enough with the drama. We’re dying to have a minister as a son-in-law.’

“Excuse me, I’ll have to take my leave. I have another engagement.”
The tall figure stood up to bid the elders farewell. Not once did it cross his mind to give his newly-wedded wife even a simple goodbye kiss on the cheek.
‘Hey! Husband, where are we going for our honeymoon?’
I hadn’t even had the chance to say that yet. Where the hell does he think he’s going?
…the Minister’s Wife…
