Chapter 1
Callise and Jebson met at a local fair in the next town over one summer. She was sitting on a bench in the early evening sunlight, contented just watching people move about listening to the music a band was playing. Jebson walked up to her and asked her if she would like to dance with him. She looked up to a voice and there, next to her stood this older gentleman wearing jeans, a white shirt, shiny sunglasses and a cowboy hat. She had noticed him earlier dancing with several ladies. As she looked up at him she replied that she didn’t know how to dance his way. It didn't bother Jebson any that she couldn’t dance like him; he liked her and knew he would be hooked.
Every Friday night they would meet up and he would teach her his way of dancing. Callise eventually learned to dance to his style of country music. He taught her how to two-step and to waltz (her favorite). Jeb was a good dancer. The women who attended the dances would of like to have danced with him too she suspected. She just smiled to herself knowing that he chose her to dance with.
Everyone who knew Jeb referred to him as “Cowboy Jeb” when in conversation. He became her “cowboy” now and Cal couldn’t of been happier. From then on, Callise and Jeb would go to all the local dances together. Everyone there knew them as a couple and would comment on how beautiful they looked together. Callise was over the moon and all smiles as he whisked her around the dance floor; oh, how she loved those moments with him.
