A briefly enjoyable but ultimately tedious read

"The story begins well but I fear that its ability to hold my attention was rather lacking. The decision to split the narrative into two halves, where in the second the roles are reversed, was an interesting idea but after the initial switch up the plot becomes repetitive and it really feels you are reading the same thing again. In a similar vein, whilst the chapters were enjoyable, the first 12 blurred together rather, with passages beginning and ending narratively and emotionally in the same place, leading to a rather abundant lack of clarity as to the specifics of the story itself. In terms of style, the sporadic use of capitals in the actual chapter titles made the book seem rather unprofessional. I did however like the chapter names, it was simply the way that they were presented to me that was marginally immersion breaking. I also fear that SOME readers may confuse the author's writing style with that of a large language model. I'm not accusing the author of utilising ai but simply suggesting in future they may want to consider if there was a manner in which they could present their work that would be less similar to that of something created by a robot. I would really like to see more of these characters like where they came from and how they came to be so close. The choice to start a romance novel in media res was unique but little backstory is given. The author seems like they have the ability to grow into something truly great but for now this reads more like fanfiction than high art. Still, I will be watching this account closely. "
