"Okay, so... lemme catch my breath for a moment after this crushing final chapter, will you? Just a moment. 😮💨. Okay... THIS IS FIRE!!! At first, I didn’t think it would turn out to be THIS shocking. I thought that Saba is overreacting when she’s deciding against trusting anyone in her family. I thought that she doesn’t need to get involved with all this. I thought Darim’s involvement takes the story to a weird direction. I THOUGHT I COULD PREDICT HOW THIS STORY WILL GO! BUT OH MY GOD, HOW WRONG I WAS 😨! From the very beginning, it was clear that this family is f#cked. After’s Hamid’s death/suicide/who knows what it was, things were never the same again. Saba’s relationship with her uncle and favorite cousin deteriorated. I thought that things would turn out better between them during the talk they had in the first chapter, if I recall, but then Angel, Saba’s best friend, died. So Saba went on to find out the killer of her best friend, initially doing so by the famous ‘spin-the-wheel-for-the-suspect-of-the-day’ tactic. Then Darim came around. He’s a smug, annoying, no-good — ! Focus: Be honest. Abdo: I am being honest! Focus: Be. Honest. Abdo: ... Okay, he was cool as hell. Focus: Thank you 😌. Focus: Anyway, to carry on the part of the review that Abdo is too bitter, shell-shocked and brain-dead to write about 😒, Darim’s introduction effectively resolves the mystery behind Angel’s death. Though SOME PEOPLE (🙄) thought that this was a weird way to resolve this, it makes perfect sense when we come to the final chapter. It’s Darim’s involvement in Angel’s death why the teased relationship between Darim and Saba never worked. There are those little details in the narrative that SOME PEOPLE (🙄) might — . Abdo: Less roasting, more reviewing 😒. Focus: Less interrupting and screaming, more reviewing 😒. Focus: Anyway, those little details might get ignored at first, but when you piece them together, you get the full picture and a full sense of what was actually happening behind the scenes. Umair’s trip, for example, sounded like a subplot that wouldn’t add much, and him running into Saba this one time, who coincidentally went to the same place, sounded like a coincidence, but then you see that Umair was following her and spying on her all this time. And may I say, this book does a phenomenal job at subverting expectations. It was either Mustafa or Babar Awan at first. Then with Babar Awan’s words to Khuzaima, it became a matter of proving Mustafa’s involvement in everything. This suddenly led Chashman to take center stage as the culprit, with Babar Awan involved as well. Then it turns out Mustafa STILL wasn’t innocent. He was actively robbing his best friend’s business before his death and even more after his death. Given all of that, Saba’s plight makes sense. She dug too deep and figured out too much. Now, she can’t trust anyone. The family is destroyed. And the truth is still uncertain in a way. The ending scene is especially hard-hitting with the descriptive language and dreadful tone. It’s up to interpretation whether Saba intends to commit suicide via hanging or instead hang Mustafa out of revenge the same way her father was hung and in the same room... to repeat this cycle of hatred and deep secrets that will divide families again. Abdo: The second half of the book was where it really cooked. Darim’s involvement added to the thrill of the mystery, and the writing style and dialogue showed incredible improvement and depth. This was your best work yet, Abeer, in every single aspect. I thoroughly enjoyed (and got depressed 🙃) from the experience. I would’ve called it peak, but it’s cold at the top. Focus: To everyone else who might come across this review... READ IT NOW! Abdo: Great work, Abeer! Here’s another book to captivate millions with! Make sure you publish this one, too 🤩! Focus: But there is still one more important mystery yet to be resolved. Abdo: The most important. Focus: A matter of life or death. Abdo: It is of utmost significance to address this lingering question. Abdo and Focus: (in unison) Where’s Luke 🤨?"

"I am really not good at expressing my thoughts as such. But this book is litreally the best. This story starts with an opening scene in one of the most beautiful places in the world. Initially the story starts with the death of an innocent soul, it shows how the death of a bestfriend can be really painful. The book has described a variety of emotions.. happiness, love, pain all in such a way that it doesn’t sound fake or made up. I love how the story doesn't sound rushed but there is depth in each character and each scene. Despite having different stories from the past and the present. The story doesn’t sound confusing rather it makes it more interesting to read! All I want to say is... This book is amazing and I can’t wait to read moreee 👏🏻🙌🏻🌷❤️"

"This is one of the wildest books I’ve read in a while, and it was definitely worth it. The suspense and the misdirection are brilliantly done just when I thought I knew what was coming next, the author proved me wrong. Aside from a few minor pronoun errors, there was really nothing wrong with this book. Highly recommended!"
