I grounded this story in real history through careful research, but some details were intentionally created to heighten (heighten!?) the action, thrill, and dark atmosphere. These additions are never meant to disrespect our heritage or our faith, they're crafted to bring out a cinematic sense of beauty behind the chaos and horror.
I'm a very imaginative person, I'm obsessed with visuals and art—any creativity amazes me to the point na hindi ko na napigilan ang sarili ko to create something on my own, like this novel na binuhos ko talaga ang aking imagination and lahat ng ideas ko dito, so I hope my efforts will create something beautiful in Filipino literature.
This novel's first draft was made back in 2022 noong na obsessed ako sa Vampires, yung mga movies, pero ngayong 2026 ko lang na fully polished kasi isip ko noon ay baka mas matured na ako mag-isip in my 20's (now) para hindi maging jejemon or cringe itong story.
But this will not be like a vampire story, this is all about aswangs. This story will act as appreciation of our mythological creatures, and will also feature our history back in pre-colonial times. I will be treating Philippine mythology with cinematic seriousness.
The Inhuman is a historical dark fantasy and gothic novel that doesn't include any sexual content.
