Chapter 1- Alexis
“Good work today, Alexis.” Alec’s voice called to me from the other side of the recording studio, I simply turned to him and flashed him a smile, before turning to grab my bag off of the coat hanger, slinging it over my shoulder.
“Always is.” I responded to him, walking over to where he was stood. My smile stayed unfaultered as I moved over to him. “I don’t come to mess around.” I added, pulling my mobile phone out of my pocket.
“Clearly.” Alec responded, a small grin creeping across his face. “In all seriousness, you worked really hard today, thank you for putting the effort into my music. Are you going straight home?”
I couldn’t tell if he was making simple small talk or if he actually wanted to know if I had any plans for the rest of the day. I shook my head back at him in response. “No, I need some bits from the shop, I’m going to call in on my way back home and pick up the bits that I need.” I answered, finding my shopping list on my notes page.
“Ah, understandable. Well then, enjoy your shopping trip and I will see you tomorrow.” Alec responded, before walking off and leaving me in the recording studio by myself.
Alec seemed different, he seemed more professional, I couldn’t exactly say I blamed him, this is his lively hood and not just some TV show anymore, he actually needed it to do well in order to get paid. I wasn’t quite sure if I liked his new personality though, I much preferred the laid back Alec who couldn’t give a shit about anyone or anything.
I sighed and headed out towards the staircase, rifling through my bag as I went to find my car keys. They were at the very bottom of my bag, as I expected. I moved effortlessly down the stairs and out of the quiet recording studio and onto the bustling street of the city centre.
Looking around made me realise exactly why I moved out of the city and into the country side, it was far too busy for me now, and in all honestly, overwhelming. It gave me a dizzy feeling inside my head and a sick feeling in my stomach, I hated feeling claustrophobic in such an open space, but that’s city life, it was as if everyone had suddenly forgot what spacial awareness was and decide that they had every right to invade someone elses personal bubble of space.
I wasted no time in unlocking my motor and climbing into it.
If you’re new here, my name is Alexis, I’m a young vocal artist and actress. Alec is my good friend and colleague, he had recently asked me to be the duet in his new single, to which I had agreed. I live now in the small town of FendtVille, with my very whacky and large friend group, consisting of me, 5 other girls and 7 lads.
There’s me, Daniel (who is my loving boyfriend), James (Daniel’s brother), Nathan, Ryan, Sam, Tommy, Ryder, Ella, Pearl, Thalia, Cathryn and Rosie.
If that wasn’t confusing enough then I will give you a small rundown of us all before we get into our story.
There are three couples on the street.
Tommy and Thalia, Ryder and Ella and of course myself and Daniel.
Nathan and Daniel live together, so do Ryan and Sam, as do Thalia and Tommy, Ryder and Ella, James and Rosie, Cathryn and Pearl and I live by myself.
James, Daniel’s brother, is openly part of the LGBTQIA+ community, he is Gay, and single!
Myself and Sam went to college together, we studied music and during that time formed a band called Eternal Flame, that band consisted of the two of us, my younger sister, Matilda, and our good friend Roman. In recent weeks, I had been working hard to reconstruct our band and get us to begin playing together again, we have until the beginning of next year to write and perfect our first song, as Alec has asked us to play the opening act at his opening show on his tour next year. I expect it will be a big hit and will be an amazing opportunity for our band to gain some publicity and finally make it onto the record charts.
Matilda had recently moved back in with our mother and father after her university degree so she was readily available for practice, which made my life significantly easier, only having to plan around two peoples schedules instead of three. Two was difficult enough for me to do, anymore planning and I don’t think I’d be able to cope.
My schedule was currently non-existant, I might as well have been retired, I recorded lines for my current tv show each week, which took me no more than an hour, and Alec only needed me for a day each fortnight, so I lived a life of freedom luxury currently, but it often consisted of me running errands for our friendgroup, I didn’t mind doing that though, it kept me busy and kept my mind occupied until Daniel got home and he could do that for me, if you understand where I am coming from.
Anyway, now that you have had your small rundown, you don’t really need to read my first book- In love with my roommates girlfriend, but if you enjoy the drama then you might as well!
