Chapter 2
Saathi: Chapter 2 – The Silent Predator
The story begins with a dark shadow from the past. Ramesh Gupta, a powerful tycoon, was entangled in a dangerous affair with Radhika, a woman trapped in an unhappy marriage with her husband, Sumit. For years, they cheated on their spouses, but when Radhika began pressuring Ramesh to leave his wife and start a life with her, Ramesh’s cold heart turned lethal. To “end the chapter,” he hired a truck driver to ram into the car carrying Radhika and Sumit. Both died instantly in the “accident.” But the hidden truth was far more tragic—Radhika and Sumit were the parents of Mahesh.
Years passed. Ramesh eventually died of a terminal illness, taking his secrets to the grave.
In the present, following the supposed death of Naeem Singh, Mahesh is living a seemingly peaceful life with his wife, Riya, and their children. However, the silence is broken by a flood of mysterious calls and messages on Mahesh’s phone. Sensing something is wrong, Riya begins to spy on him. She witnesses Mahesh meeting a shadowy figure in secret, handing over a massive sum of money to send the man out of the city. The atmosphere grows heavy with suspicion.
In a secluded, decaying mansion, a man is bound with thick ropes. His body is a map of scars, and his face is hidden in the shadows. The same man Mahesh paid earlier stands over the prisoner, whispering coldly, “You won’t survive more than two days. The boss is coming... be patient to meet your God.”
Two days later, Mahesh arrives. As he steps into the light, the prisoner’s face is revealed. It is Naeem. He is alive. But the shock doesn’t end there—it turns out Naeem is actually the son of Ramesh Gupta, the man who murdered Mahesh’s parents.
Suddenly, the silence is shattered. Mahesh speaks. His voice is cold, sharp, and terrifying. He was never mute. He had spent years faking his disability to gain sympathy and get close to the son of his enemy.
“Your father killed my parents,” Mahesh sneers, his eyes burning with malice. “And I have destroyed your life. You want to know where your wife and kids are? They’ve gone to the same place your pathetic father went.”
Naeem is shattered. He had no idea about his father’s sins. But as Mahesh taunts him, Naeem is secretly sawing through his ropes. A brutal face-off erupts. Naeem manages to free himself, killing Mahesh’s henchman in a desperate struggle. Riya arrives in the middle of the chaos. Naeem tries to convince Mahesh that he isn’t his father—that he is innocent of those crimes.
“Your crime,” Mahesh growls, “is that you are his blood.”
In the heat of the fight, Mahesh’s greed is fully revealed. He wasn’t just after revenge; he was after Naeem’s army insurance and pension money. In a moment of blind rage, Mahesh accidentally kills Riya. Even for his own wife, he felt no love—only the hunger for the wealth his “friendship” with a soldier would bring him.
However, the soldier’s training prevails. Naeem overpowers Mahesh and ties him up just as the police swarm the mansion. Mahesh is arrested, his mask of silence finally stripped away.
In the aftermath, the story ends on a bittersweet note. Naeem, the man who lost everything to a lie, visits Mahesh’s elderly grandmother. He steps up to take care of her and Mahesh’s son—becoming a true ‘Saathi’ (companion) to the innocent remains of a broken family.
