A life that was enough
Writer pov:
Ariel Lin's life was not special but it was warm
Her father come home everyday smelling of engine oil and rain. Her mother hummed softly while sewing clothes for customers. Their house was small, but it was clean, and the walls carried laughter.
They weren’t rich. They weren’t poor.
They were happy.
Ariel believed happiness was permanent but nothing last for ever, destiny always have it on way.
Ariel pov:
I smile looking at my favorite music video I was watching on my phone while sowing cloth for a customer with my foot tapping to the beat.... suddenly, Mom bust in looking angry
"Mum, what's wrong?" I said to her try to hide my phone "You supposed to be focusing on this sewing, not YouTube!" She said giving me that unhappy look"what if you hurt yourself" I was happy because she was worried about me, I didn't even know when I smiled at her"why you smiling, you keep making me worry about you. You should start taking care of yourself because I wont be around everytime and stop smiling, you look silly"she said out of anger but I could feel the love in her voice "mom you are so dramatic"
Than dad walks in from work looking super tired "I could hear you both voice from outside, what happen this time"I ran to hug him and collect his coat"dad, mom said am silly"I said childishly "my baby is not silly"dad touch my face "she is not a child, how will she learn"mom said as she sat on a bench and started sowing looking very serious "I love you mom"I hug her tightly "I love you more"
Ding dong! The doorbell rings, and I springs into action, racing to get it! I flings the door open and... SURPRISE! It's was my aunty and cousin! My face lights up, "Aunty! " I squeals, missing them so much! We exchange hugs and kisses, and I said looking happ "I've missed you guys so much! Please come in" aunty and Lara (cousin) step in, and mum was so happy to see them"what a lovely surprise" They exchange hugs and catch up for a bit. I look at mum "Mum, I'm taking Lara (cousin) to my room okay?" Mum said "Go ahead, girl's."
I grabs Lara's hand, and they're off to my room!. showing off all the stuff I got for lara – jewelry, snacks, clothes... Lara's eyes where wide ! I told her "Pick anything you want from my closet too!" Lara starts digging through, trying stuff on . Best cousins' day ever! . When she was done picking and trying things on,we walk down stairs. With what she carried you could say she took all my closet but I don't mind, she lost her father some years back and since then my parent provide for them.
I walks into the kitchen, and aunty's got the apron on, packing away all the food like she's restocking her own fridge! She even took my favorite ice-cream ,I just smile when she looks at me.
