Chapter one
Bridget POV
It’s been a long time since the chaos we experienced—twenty years, I think. We have been at peace for a while now, though Fred was spotted, but he hasn’t made any attempts to hurt or cause any trouble, and I hope things stay that way. I walked through the large hallway to meet with my beloved Alpha. It was a full house, and we have extended our territories across the globe. Though we are on the low, living in peace with humans, feasting on the bad, but creating a sense of balance between both worlds, I got to where they were and took my place as his Luna while he smiled beautifully at me.
“Been waiting for you,” he said, and I smiled brightly.
“Well, your Luna is here now,” I said, and immediately he stood up.
“Let the celebration begin,“ he announced.
Alpha Richard POVIt’s been a long time since we had experienced this amount of peace. It had been one trouble after another, but now everything had returned to normal after the death of Leah. I had my twin pups with me and a pack to protect. Everything felt alright. The celebration was a commemoration of the peace between vampires and werewolves. One that had lasted twenty years and counting. I do hope it stays this way forever. I watched as everyone jubilated and was having fun, and I enjoyed the rhythm of how everything went on. The pups were grown now, and while little Babette continued with her training, Mason was undergoing his as well, a training to become the next Alpha of the clan. I smiled as I watched everyone, especially my family, enjoy the moments together. The day went by so fast, and everyone retired to have a shut-eye. I left my chambers quietly into the open air, enjoying the chilling breeze, the rhythm of how the trees moved, and the beauty of the night sky. It was a good night for running.
“About to take a run?” I heard a voice behind me.
“Would you join me?” I asked Bridget,
“First to get to the lake,” she said and quickly took to her heels.
I immediately changed into my wolf and followed behind. The run was worth it; it reminds me of the very first run I had with my Luna, Bridget. We were running in sync and got to the lake at the same time.
“Still a loser,” she teased, and I chuckled. “Your loser,” I said flirtatiously, and she rolled her eyes.
We went for a swim to cool off and allowed the calm but cold water to navigate its way into our skin, and whatever followed suit was history.
