Collision
Ji-min didn't mean to bump into her. But when their shoulders collided in the middle of the alley, neither held back.
Winter 2025
Choi Ji-min kept her head down as she walked, hands shoved deep into the pockets of her oversized white coat. Her headphones weren't playing anything. They were just there to block the world out. Her knees ached and her stomach was empty. She reached for her stomach as she turned the corner a little too fast.
Thud.
Her shoulder slammed into someone.
"Watch where you're going," the other woman snapped instantly. Ji-min's temper flared just as fast. She looked up, the woman was taller than her, dressed in a long black coat, hair dark and glossy topped with a dark cap. Her face was sharp in a way that screamed celebrity, she was also wearing sunglasses at night. Ji-min thought she didn't look human, she looked expensive and mysterious.
Ji-min scoffed, "You walked into me." The woman laughed once, and it wasn't kind. "Sure." Something about her tone made Ji-min's chest tighten, she hated that tone, the tone people used when they thought they were better than you. "Whatever," Ji-min muttered, trying to walk past. "Wait!" Ji-min stopped, annoyed already. The woman looked at her more carefully now, her eyes flicked over Ji-min's face like she was trying to place her. Ji-min crossed her arms. "What?" The woman frowned. "...Have I seen you before?" Ji-min let out a humorless laugh but the woman stared at her. The type of stare that made you uncomfortable after a couple seconds. "....No..."
Ji-min walked away, behind her, Yoon Min-gyu watched her leave. Ji-min didn't look back and Min-gyu stood there long after she disappeared. Because she knew exactly where she'd heard that voice.
