Chapter 1

Eric's POV

-I was already out of breath this chase was not going to end.

Well this was the result of being part of a royal family.Due to some matters some people were chasing after me just because I failed to marry. According to my father his time of ruling was coming to an end, so it was my turn. But l don't have a wife so other ministers are trying to force their daughters on me while others tried to kill me.

"Hurry up he went this way,"

I saw one of my trusted guards stopping with the few men that were supposed to protect me.

"Jack what are you doing let's go"

"No my Prince .We will stay back and protect you.Go , go ,go!!!"

"But I can't I will stay and fight with you "

"My Prince no l promised your father that l will lead you out of the palace safely,"

He handed me a sword and l took it and made my way out of the palace.

Just as l was at the gate l saw about ten men charging my way.I drew my sword and waited for the first one to draw near .

As he was about to come at me l hit him in the head with the back of my sword. Yeah l don't like to kill people if not necessary.

I only shed blood during wars to protect my kingdom.

They kept on coming and l used my sword to block them cutting their knees and hands, because traitors like them don't deserve to ever hold a sword.

After a few swift moves l had defeated all the men .l was about to continue when another soldier charged at me slashing my stomach. I reacted as quick as I could slashing his knee and kicking him in the stomach.

My stomach hurt but I had to continue for the sake of my Kingdom. I trudged through a forest path that would lead me to the nearest city.The pain was overwhelming and I had already lost a lot of blood.

I need help....

Tatiana Valerie's P.O.V

Well this day has been the worst one ever and I feel like crying.

Why can't I it's my birthday and noone has wished me well.My family don't even care about all they care about is my sister who they say is better than me

I don't know if I am my parents daughter because they treat me like an outsider.If only my mom could just wish me happy birthday. I have already moved out of the family house but my sister is still living there, and I just turned twenty five.

Grrr grrrr grrrr lord my phone is ringing maybe someone remembered my special day.

"Hello mom"

"Yes Tatiana dear come home today there is a special gathering.'

"Okay I am on my way" then l hang up

Yeeeeeeee finally they remembered my birthday.A dream come true. I jumped out of bed and took a shower then wore my best clothes.

I took a bottle of champagne then made my way out. Finding a taxi was very easy so I gave the driver my address. This was it l was finally going home after a long time.

When I arrived l got out of the car then payed for the ride.

"Miss your change,"

"Keep it"

"Today is a lucky day indeed"

"Yes it's my birthday "

"In that case happy birthday,"

I smiled and waved the taxi driver goodbye. I took another glance at our family mansion.This place was really mesmerizing, but it will never belong to me.

I walked to the door and after a slight knock the maid opened.

"Miss Valerie this way please madam and sir are already waiting."

"Thank you " I smiled and made my way to the dinning room.

The place was decorated in pink , my favorite colour by the way. The place was looking like it crawled out of a book. I was truly happy this was going to be the best day ever.

"Mom , dad l am here,"

"Oh you made . Today is a special day."

"And I wouldn't miss it for the world."

I placed the champagne on the table that was filled with different types of food. At the middle was a huge cake that I knew was mine. Now I knew that they did this all for me.

My father then sat down at the table and my mom and I followed suit.

Something was wrong, there is someone missing.

"Mom where is Gina,"

"She said she has something to do but she will be here soon. Then we can surprise her."

"Surprise her?"

"Yes"

I saw the looks on their faces, wait what was happening wasn't this supposed to be my big day.

Maybe it's a misunderstanding.

"Dad how exactly are you planning to surprise Gina,"

He cleared his throat and spoke up

"By giving her shares to the company,"

"What!!!!!! mom is that true"

"Yes yes your father and I have decided that it is finally time to give your sister the company."

That was it , I felt as if my heart was being pricked by a thousand thorns . I have lost hope with all these people. I have no family in this world.

I tried to hold it in but I couldn't the tears were already flowing l needed answers.

"Am I really your daughter"

I think my mom was caught off guard because she replied shakingly.

"Yes dear. Why would you say something like that."

"Because today is my birthday and noone of you cared . All you think about is Gina even if l am the oldest by a year. Aren't you as my parents obligated to treat us the same. Ha answer me!!!!"

My father stood up

"Shut up!! What do you have that can compare to my beloved Gina you brat,"

"Dad is this how you are. I was the one who graduated at the top of my class how can you say l am not up to match with Gina. As your eldest daughter don't you think I am supposed to be working at your company instead l work day and night trying to make a living when I have a family that can support me,"

"I don't care you are nothing but a worthless child, if it weren't for your mother I would have disowned you a long time ago,"

"You think I care I have already told myself that in this world l have no family left . The day you threw me out was the day you both died in my heart"

"Tatiana how could you say that to your father "

"Shut up, you don't have to keep on this act . If you ever cared you would have called to check on me but no you thought of me today because you want me to celebrate with you in honour of your beloved daughter Gina.,"

Slap , slap ..... Pa--aaa..aaa

The slap echoed through out the room.

"Dad you slapped me."

"And I will do it again if you don't know your limits,"

"Ho.o.ow could you do this to me. Despite being your daughter the moment I turned 18 you threw me out to fend for myself. Never have you called to check on me. I worked as a waitress to pay for my university and it's not like you didn't have the money. I worked all sorts of jobs and you never cared. What type of parents are you ha and you stand here and tell me to know my limits "

The tears were flowing and my heart in pain. The hope I had was already fading and my heart was yearning for a peace that's profound. I was trapped in a feeling of agony so I wiped my tears for the scars of the heart can never be revealed . What are tears when the heart can cry silently.

"I hear by declare that I Tatiana Valerie have no relationship with this family,"

" You really want to do this,"

"Otherwise is there a choice. I can't keep on convincing myself that I have a family when there is none."

"It's fine don't come crawling back to your mother and me for help. "

"Rest assured l won't. So from today on ward Tatiana is nolonger your child. Salut "

Tatiana Valerie's P.O.V

After l left the place I once called my home. My heart was as heavy as a stone weighed down by sorrow.But l couldn't live like there is no tomorrow.

So l decided to go look for my boyfriend at least l would find some comfort. Peter had chased after me for two whole months and then I accepted him last month. We have been together since then and now l can spend my birthday with someone who loves me.

I had been single all this while because I thought that love wasn't my portion. Don't know why l gave Peter a chance.

I guess it was decided I was going to look for him and tell him about my day.

I decided to take the bus , so after a few minutes I arrived at Peter's apartment. I had bought some beer and ice cream to go with my pain. You know that saying that says eating ice cream while crying can solve your pain , that's exactly what I was going to do.

I headed to the second floor and knocked on the door.After a few tries no one came to open so l decided to go in . Peter had a tendency of locking himself in while sleeping because he would be tired after coming back from work.

I checked for the key under a yellow flower pot and luckily the key was still there. I opened the door and walked in . The whole place was filled with alcohol bottles.

"Pete are you there ?". I heard no reply so I decided to check in the bedroom.

As l was getting closer I heard muffled sounds coming from the bedroom.I walked to the door in lightning speed and kicked the door open. Bang !!!!!! and the door opened. I dropped the things I was holding and they scattered on the floor alerting the two people tumbling on the bed..

Right then and there my heart dropped. The scene before me was horrifying and heart wrenching.

"Gi . ..gi...Na !!!!!! Gina what are you doing with Peter "

They were both calm ,they did not look like people who had been caught in a crime. The ones tangled in bed were my sister and boyfriend. They were really shameless they did not even panic.

"What do you think dear sister," she said as she stood up from the bed.

" Gina how could you do this to me. You have everything you would want why take away my only source of light."

" Stop it you deserve everything that is coming your way you bitch ."

Slap, slap, slap pa--aaa , pa--aaa , pa--aaa, pa--aaa.

I had slapped her four times on both cheeks . She had taken the only thing that belonged to me and she wasn't remorseful about it.

"How dare you slap me . Do you think that Petty would want you haa. Tell me how you plan to keep a man when you stay a virgin like Mary . Dear sis you should learn from me "

Slap , pa--aaa. Her face was now slowen but it was no match to how l was feeling now .

" You're heartless I hope you suffer the same fate as me .

And you Peter how can you be so shameless to sleep with my sister. Today was my birthday and I wanted to spend it with you,"

"Tatiana I don't fucking care how do you expect me to date a nun haa just go and die . I don't care about your family drama after all you are the unwanted child. I would rather be with Gina who is sure to inherit the company."

"So this is it ha . Gina your parents called me out said you were taking care of something important I never thought that this was what you were doing. I wish they knew that their little perfect girl wasn't so perfect at all. Love is blind......."

"Petty come here let's give her a show "

They started to kiss in front of me. I could nolonger hold it in but I wasn't going to cry in front of them. As I was walking away I heard Peter's voice.

"You already tired of watching,"

This was it I was in a complete mess . My heart felt like it could rip out any moment. I walked away.

The tears l had tried to hold in found their way out. *****

This was definitely the end of the world for me

My parents disowned me, my boyfriend cheated on me with my sister. If I could choose my family I totally deserve better.

Since my birthday had been ruined it's time I go back home to cry myself to death. It's not far from my home so I decided to take a walk back.

Stuck in my thoughts as I walked past a little path that connected to the forest I saw a figure looming in the dark . My heart was beating fast and faster by the second. I griped the hem of my dress in fear and shakingly called out to the unknown figure.

"Whose there, sho --o..w your self. I am dangerous just ple ...e ...ease don't hurt me"

The person did not respond so I walked closer . It looked like he was hurt the least I could do was heIp.

"Help me" the man said then I heard a loud thud he had fainted.

I dragged him out of the dark and just then I saw his face . My heart skipped a beat, this man was an artwork his body was that of the statue of Hercules.

I felt stupid for admiring his looks when clearly he needed to be saved. What could I do he was simply too charming to take my eyes off him

I ripped off a piece of my dress then tied it around his wound. It seemed to be a cut wound, maybe he was one of the royal guards .

Well in this kingdom we have cities surrounding each side. The North is where bandits come from. At the heart of this country is were we find The Palace in Andorra.

Only royals , ministers, noble men and their families live in Andorra. The rest live in cities but we all are still under the rule of The King of Andorra ..

The people that live in the main kingdom are trained to fight the bandits so that they don't get to the cities.

Maybe this man has been hurt fighting the bandits since his wearing an armor . Yeah the people at the palace are still traditional.

Training knights, balls and all other royal stuff. Since this man was one of those people who protect our kingdom I might as well as help.

I hailed a taxi and asked the driver to help me put the man in the car. After that we arrived at my place. I carried him out of the car and arrived in my bedroom.

Damn this man had a lot of weight. After laying the man on the bed I dressed his wound carefully. Now I would prepare some herbal soup , I will have to make sure he takes it after waking up.

I headed to the kitchen and saw that I was out of herbs so I decided to heard to the nearest market to get some before he woke up .

I took my bag and went out. I locked the door just in case .

After all I have gone through l have learnt a big lesson.
