Summary

18 year old Hazel Brown is used to living and surviving on her own. After all, she's been doing it for over four years. The world is in ruins, and she's one of the only people left alive. In order to stay alive, she has to search for her own food and water. One day on a supply run, Hazel gets caught by a power-hungry group of people called the Marauders. One thing leads to another, and Hazel finds herself stuck in the fae world with no way out. She starts relying on the sadistically charming dark fae prince, Griffin, to help her escape. As a terrible bargain is struck and secrets are revealed, Hazel finds herself unable to resist the prince's charms. The only question is, will she fall for him, or is he truly the wicked man that he is thought to be?

Intro

Forget what you’ve read about the end of the world, because none of it’s true. Those post-apocalyptic books? Wrong. Those don’t tell you anything. They don’t teach you how to survive.

Now, you’re probably wondering how I fit into all of this. I know I would be thinking the same thing.

Well here’s the thing, I’ve been alone for over four years now, so I know all the tips and tricks that have let me live another day. Now that I’ve said that, you’re probably even more confused.

A while back, us humans made a mistake. A big one. The world was already in shambles. Shambles, meaning a full-on world war. We had exhausted all the natural resources, and everyone was fighting over the last of it.

That is, until we drilled into the last gas deposit on earth. By then, we all seemed to realize that we weren’t going to live much longer if we didn’t work together.

So, a team was put together that consisted of the best scientists, engineers, and nuclear engineers.

Their job was to somehow make that deposit last long enough for us to find a way to rebuild society. Spoiler alert, that didn’t work.

All it took was one disconnected wire. One flick of a switch, for the world to go down in flames.

It’s the year 3000.

Day 1573.

50,000 people remain.

Ku_Rolet: The novel was good, and I really enjoyed reading it. I love the leads and their bond, but I have one question that confused me. How could Tristan have been dreaming about his mate since he was a child if Omara was already mated to someone else before him? If Kyle had accepted Omara, would Tristan ne...

Ingibabes511: Beautiful storytelling, too short but crafted wonderfully, your ability to draw us in with just a few short descriptive nuances and I for one would not be unhappy if you decided to make this into a series following their lives, where we learn more about her goddess given talents and if they have pup...

Historical Writer : This is the kind of story you recommend without caveat. No 'it gets better after chapter five' or 'just push through the slow parts.' It's good from the first page and stays that way.
