The Curse of Eyes

Was the catastrophe a monster sleeping within us?

Or was it prey that had been hiding itself from the very beginning?

How long could peace truly last for humanity? How long could humans and demons remain allies?

Or could they ever become allies at all? Was such a thing even possible?

When everything reached its breaking point, the catastrophe could no longer be contained.

Year 1230

In the year 1230, nature itself began to lose its balance across much of the world. The reason was simple: the demons had been banished from their own realm.

Gathered in a circle around their Emperor, they searched for a new refuge and waited for his command.

Only one order came from the ruthless ruler:

"ATTACK!"

And thus, the catastrophe spread its roots across the world.

Villages and kingdoms fell under relentless assault, and humanity found itself with only one sanctuary left—the first and only ruler of two continents, Ahsen Seraphine.

The blood of both the Ottoman Empire and Europe flowed through her veins, setting her apart from all others. With her strategic brilliance and immense power, she had earned her place upon a magnificent throne.

After four years of war, both rulers looked back and saw only one thing:

Loss and suffering.

Yet the disasters refused to end.

The world's order had already crumbled.

The Demon Emperor seemed to be recovering, but rumors began to spread. Something had changed in his eyes. A strange darkness lingered within the blue irises that once shone brightly.

The news shocked the entire world:

The Emperor had become bedridden, coughing up blood.

In 1234, when peace was finally achieved, the true catastrophe was only beginning.

As Ahsen Seraphine gently stroked the mane of her white horse, a trembling guard approached and handed her a scroll.

The moment she saw it, she understood.

Nothing was going to get better.

And it never would.

Her brown eyes scanned the parchment as she fought to suppress the fear rising within her.

When she finished reading, she felt her blood run cold.

The Demon Emperor had died from an illness.

But that made no sense.

A demon's regenerative abilities were extraordinary.

And he was an Emperor.

How could a mere disease have defeated him?

As the sun disappeared and the moon claimed dominion over the sky, Ahsen rode toward the nearest village.

The Emperor of Demons was dead.

The illness was spreading throughout the land.

Then suddenly, crimson droplets began falling from the heavens.

Startled, she looked upward.

Something was terribly wrong.

Realizing she had no time to waste, she urged her horse forward.

Her brown hair danced wildly in the wind as red drops splashed against her face, but she ignored them and continued onward.

The faster the horse ran, the harder her hair struck her face like whips of wind.

Then a deafening roar echoed through the sky.

The surrounding trees bent violently before being torn apart by the storm.

A massive tremor shook the earth beneath her.

The force separated Ahsen from her horse and hurled them apart.

When she opened her eyes, she spotted her horse lying motionless in the distance.

She struggled to stand, but the ground itself had begun to split apart.

It was already too late.

A brilliant blue light emerged from the depths of the earth.

Barely managing to rise, the young ruler looked toward the sky once more.

Yet she could see only one thing.

Death.

The blue light suddenly erupted.

The blast sent her flying backward, and darkness consumed her consciousness.

When she opened her eyes again, it seemed as though the world had truly ended.

Trees had been uprooted.

Animals, humans, and demons lay buried beneath shattered ruins.

The explosion had thrown her far farther than she realized.

But how had she survived?

Before she could even process the pain coursing through her body, an even greater agony struck her eyes.

A scream echoed across the entire world.

The young ruler's cry of agony caused the crimson liquid in the sky to fall even harder.

Her tears had become blood-red.

Then a red-orange light descended from within the terrifying heavens and brought an end to the catastrophe.

The sky returned to normal.

The crimson rain retreated into the depths from which it had come.

The earth became fertile and whole once again.

Then a majestic bird descended from the heavens and landed gracefully beside the young ruler.

A Phoenix.

A single tear fell from the noble creature's eye and landed upon Ahsen's cheek.

The Phoenix spread its wings once more and scattered its tears across the world, blessing both humans and demons alike.

That day, the first bearers of the Eye Curses were born.

And among them stood the wielder of the most powerful curse of all:

The Red Eye Curse.

Before the world could heal from its wounds, the uncontrollable power of the curses brought even greater destruction.

Eventually, the young ruler found herself sitting upon her throne, forced to face the true cost of her curse.

She could feel only one thing.

Pain.

The people condemned those who possessed the Eye Curses.

And soon, they began demanding that their own ruler step down from the throne.

One Week Later

From the Perspective of Ahsen Seraphine:

The world was falling deeper into ruin with every passing day.

The blood flowing through my body struggled to accept me.

The slightest touch could freeze a place in ice, engulf it in flames, or shatter it completely.

My people no longer wanted me.

Because thousands were dying because of me.

I gathered those who carried Eye Curses and kept them close.

Like me, they had no idea how to control their powers.

But I noticed something.

All curse bearers shared one thing in common.

They were exhausted.

And there were two emotions they could barely feel.

Hope.

And love.

I could no longer feel them either.

Whenever I looked at my people, I saw hatred in their eyes

.

They whispered words like "cursed" and "omen of misfortune."

Eventually, their rebellion reached a point where I could no longer contain the power inside me.

Every insult fueled the blood within my veins.

To avoid slaughtering my own people, I chained myself.

But that only made them angrier.

The palace gates were on the verge of collapse.

And the blood inside me was ready to erupt.

The last thing I remember was darkness consuming my vision.

When I regained consciousness, half of my people lay dead.

The other half had been brutally massacred by my curse.

Their blood stained my body.

And within my own blood flowed something that did not belong to me.

At that moment, I understood.

This blood was no longer mine.

And according to the legend, centuries later, a human woman and a demon man would become the next bearers of this curse.

But the curse was not a blessing.

It was a killer.

And my killer...

was my own curse.

---

Everything known about the Eye Curses came only from the legend.

Those with green eyes could control ice and water. Some were even able to wield crystal swords, though such cases were rare.

Those with black eyes could manipulate objects at will and transform them into any weapon or tool they desired.

But the true force of destruction was the Red Eye Curse.

Red-eyed bearers possessed the powers of both curses and could also command fire itself.

As for the young ruler's curse...

It imprisoned her beneath the earth.

And the legend continued to bring its own catastrophe to life.

Centuries later, another disaster would emerge.

A human woman carrying the Green Eye Curse.

And a demon bearing the Red Eye Curse.

Together, their curses would threaten to plunge the world into darkness once more.

Rose was a princess

Arthur was a demon.

But would Rose and Arthur become a catastrophe...

Or salvation?

Would Arthur's love prevail...

Or would the curse continue ruling from its throne?
