entry of the masked man
Michael Norms was a 70-year-old retired detective in the New York Police Department who lived in an apartment in Mercy Grange with his son Henry, who was a college student. They were quite comfortable, as his son did some part-time jobs, his pension was paid to him every month, and he also wrote books for a small publishing firm owned by his friend and former FBI agent, Russel Watkins.
On a summer afternoon, Michael had just finished his book on the tales of Bobby Beckham, which was the firm’s most popular series. He sat on his couch smoking a Cuban cigar and drinking a glass of scotch. As he was finishing his drink, his son asked him about his book and how well the previous edition had performed. Michael told Henry that it was a success and that everyone was waiting to see what was going to happen next.
A few hours later, Henry told his father that he had a shift at the nearby coffee shop, so he would be late for dinner. Michael seemed unbothered and continued talking to his friend Russel about the book when suddenly he heard a gunshot. He ran to see what had happened. When he reached the entrance of his apartment, he saw his son covered in wounds and a man in a black mask running away with a Glock G19 in his hand.
