I stand back up slowly my irritancy levels rising by the second. Seriously, who couldn’t wait a freaking second for me to clear up the sidewalk. I open my mouth preparing to give the stranger a very passive aggressive lecturing, but the words freeze in the back of my throat like someone cast a spell on me.
Sweat. That’s the first thing that comes to mind. And then it was muscles. Lots of muscles that we’re expanding with every breath he takes. Even toned skin that only got better with a tan and dark silky hair that made my own scream in jealousy, a strong nose, nice full lips.
Full lips that were currently smirking at me, and crap Nat you’re checking out the random stranger trying to get by on the sidewalk.
“Sorry about that,” I finally say moving against the gate so that the random hot stranger can continue with his run. “Please go ahead.” He continues to eye me, and I notice his brown eyes are honey colored, catching the sun in the most perfect way.
“Do you need help?”
“Sorry?” I respond and he chuckles lightly before he nods his head in the direction of the box I was just struggling to pick up. “Oh. Oh! No. You don’t have to do that; my roommate should be coming back down to help me. You can finish your…..”
“Run.” He finishes for me. I nod shuffling my feet nervously. It had to be a crime to be that fine.
“So, you’re moving in with your roommates?” He asks me instead of going about his day and I feel my heart drop realizing I just told a random man where I lived. Great Nat that was a smart thing to do. He could be crazy. Or a stalker looking for his next victim. You are about to be a real-life story that the Law & Order franchise would adapt for an episode of SVU.
Or maybe he just wants to help you and is trying to make conversation so you’re comfortable. Plus, you’ve already secured that SVU episode.
Okay maybe the logical part of my brain was the side I should be listening to, minus the underhanded jab.
“Oh, I was only asking because my parents are the landlords.” Crap I must’ve been wearing my emotions on my face again. I force myself to smile at him.
“Oh, I didn’t know that.” I say attempting to be normal. “Do you run past your parents’ house all the time?” I ask, finding it kind of endearing.
“Well actually yes, considering that I live here as well.” I feel my eyes widen at that. Martin didn’t mention that the landlord’s hot son lived on the premises. I mean I knew the landlords lived underneath us, which was going to make for an interesting dynamic, but I didn’t know their children would be too. Not to mention, he looked older than me and he should be a grown working man.
“The economy is rough these days.” The words are out of my mouth before my brain can even register them. My hands shoot up, covering my mouth and I stand rooted to the spot, horrified. What the hell was wrong with me today?!
I see the small smile drop from the landlords’ sons face, whose name had yet to be determined “Wait, I didn’t mean it like that” I begin my mind going frantic, “I just meant that you know its smart. Like if I had parents living in a nice house in a good area of the city, I’d live with them too! I mean my parents would never let me move back in and tell me to get a better job, but its nice that your parents are letting you stay with them. Totally nothing wrong with that.” Crap crap crap, I really needed to stop talking now. This was getting worse by the minute.
“Nat!” I hear Clem’s angelic voice shout, and I send up a prayer to the heavens. He still stands there, hot and glistening, looking at me and all I can do is give him what I hope is an apologetic look before turning to the door of the gate and running inside.

Hey so if you've read my other work you know that I mentioned I don't think I'd ever write another novel. Well inspirations struck and here I am.
This is just a snippet from what I've been working on, but I want to see if it has potential or if it will catch people's attention. So please if this caught your attention or you really want more, like, leave me a comment, I'll probably still write but just want to know if it has potential to be worth posting.
Whether you're new to my stories or if you're coming here from Anger Management,
As always
XOXOXOXO,
