Summary

Mireya Solenne came to the island looking for answers. Officially, she and her cousin are there to work—designing cabins for the powerful and mysterious Alexander Giorgino. Unofficially, Mireya hopes the trip will uncover the truth about the MonTierra family… and whether one of them might be the father she has never known. But the island hides secrets far older than she imagined. The forest is forbidden. Strange accidents have happened there. And the man who owns the island carries a presence that is anything but ordinary. Alexander Giorgino is not just wealthy, powerful, and dangerously beautiful. He is one of the Ancients—immortal warriors created to protect the Witch Queen. When he meets Mireya Solenne, something awakens between them that neither of them can explain. A pull older than memory. A connection written by majik itself. Because every time a Leikan—the future Witch Queen—is born, destiny chooses an Ancient to stand beside her. What Mireya doesn’t know is that the majik of the world has already made its choice. And the warrior bound to her soul may be the very man she is falling for.

Things You Need To Know

THE MAGICAL RACES

Witch Queen (Leikan)

The Leikan is the most powerful and highest-ranking figure in the hierarchy of witches. She is the only witch capable of housing the Witch within her body.

Although the Witch existed long before humans learned to write, the first documented Leikan—Mireaia—was the daughter of a Mundi witch from the territory of Tierra Firme and a Majikal male from the dimension of Lumina Solare.

The Witch possesses her own mythology and is said to have been created by the hands of the goddess of the bruja.

A Leikan is born only rarely. Centuries may pass before another appears to rule the dimensions.

Recognized as the queen of all Majikal bloodlines and other Majikal races, the Leikan stands at the summit of the political hierarchy of Majikal authority. Beneath her rule are the provincial queens known as Tituathen and Sanke.

The authority of the Leikan extends over the Majikal Government, the Majikal Council of Elders, and the Ancients.

Tituathen

Female witches who manifest more than three of the five pillars of magic.

They rise to power as provincial witches, governing the communities and covens within a province.

Sanke

Female witches who manifest up to three of the five pillars of magic.

They are often appointed as lieutenants to the provincial witches, but may ascend to the provincial throne when no Tituathen exists within a territory.

Witches

Regular female Majikals or Hybrids who naturally possess talent in one of the five pillars of magic.

In ancient times, a pureblood Majikal witch was recognized as a Priestess upon reaching the age of twenty-one, the age when all her potential abilities fully awaken.

There are five pillars of magic that may manifest in a witch:

Spirit MajikIndigo witches. They share a deep connection with animals and the earth’s native spirits, such as pixies.

Earth MajikAyvah witches. Known for the gift of healing touch and mastery of restorative magic.

Water MajikKaia witches. Skilled in crafting tonics, elixirs, and potions.

Air MajikAvani witches. Their power lies in breath, wind, and the force of storms.

Fire MajikDrusen witches. Their magic dances with fire, heat, and the power of the sun. They rarely live near the Mundi, as their abilities often reveal them—sometimes by accidentally setting things ablaze.

Electricity MajikSalem witches. They possess abilities tied to electricity and vibrational energy. They often work closely with the Kaia.

Weavers

Extremely rare among witches.

Weavers possess the special ability to manipulate and weave the elements—earth, air, water, and fire—into new spells.

The most exceptional gift, Spirit Weaving, occasionally appears in the seventh daughter of a Weaver.

Hybrids

Majikal offspring born from unions between:

a Mundi and a Majikala Mundi and a Supernaturalor a Majikal and a Supernatural

As they grow, Hybrids may develop magical abilities or supernatural gifts.

Among the Mundi they are often called psychics or sensitives.

Some Hybrids become exceptionally powerful if the bloodline of their Majikal or supernatural parent is strong. In such cases they may be taken in by an agency under the Majikal Government and trained to live among the Majikal.

They are the only Mundi exceptions to the Statute of Secrecy.

Majikal

Beings born into Majikal bloodlines.

Some interact with the Mundi, but most reside within Majikal territories.

Mundi

The native inhabitants of Tierra Firme who possess no magic in their blood.

Mundi are known for their intelligence and ability to create through science.

Some exceptionally perceptive Mundi are aware of the existence of Majikals and Supernaturals, but most remain ignorant due to the Statute of Secrecy, imposed after the Majikal War nearly two millennia ago, during which many Mundi were caught in the conflict.

Warlords

Adult male Majikals, Supernaturals, or Hybrids gifted in the use of magic.

They serve as alphas within their territories and are often chosen to serve the Witch Queens in the First Circle.

During times of conflict or war, many become generals or high-ranking military leaders.

Ancients

The firstborn sons of the Majikal race born in Tierra Firme.

They appear nearly immortal simply because they are extraordinarily difficult to kill.

They serve as the enforcers of the Leikan’s laws, and none are more loyal to the Witch Queen.

Few Ancients remain. Most now reside in Lumina Solare, waiting for the birth of another Leikan in Tierra Firme.

SUPERNATURAL CREATURES

Eshikh

Exotic winged beings with bat-like wings, dark skin, and thick black curls.

They are fierce warriors and brutal enemies.

When insects begin to swarm or behave strangely, it is said an Eshikh is nearby.

They live in Lumina Solare and rarely travel to Tierra Firme, except to serve a Leikan.

Speiro

Winged beings with eagle-like wings, golden hair, pale skin, and blue eyes.

They are noble warriors, though more spiritual than other Majikal races.

They frequently walk among the Mundi disguised by glamour, hiding their wings and otherworldly beauty.

They live in Lumina Solare.

When they rarely visit Tierra Firme, they are drawn to the weak and the oppressed. Many Mundi mistake them for archangels.

Fey

Beings from a world long forgotten by time—except in fairy tales where stories remain of their mischief and meddling with the Mundi.

The Fey lived in Lumina Solare long before the dimension received that name.

The Weaver bloodline descends from a Fey–Majikal hybrid lineage.

SUPERNATURAL BEINGS

Olden

In mythology, they are the Creators, older even than the gods.

They know no death and no end.

Their emotions revolve primarily around curiosity.

According to legend they dwell in the Twilight Dimension, indifferent to the worlds beyond their territory.

Yet they remember the time before the realms were divided into dimensions. It is believed that the emotions connected to those memories still linger within them.

The Olden share a unique affinity with Weavers and the Leikan.

Vampyres

Creatures from Lumina Solare.

They are roughly ten times stronger and faster than the average Majikal male and possess psychic powers.

Their weakness is sunlight. Accustomed to the gentle light of Lumina Solare’s twin suns, the harsher sun of Tierra Firme weakens them and prolonged exposure burns their skin.

They can feed without using their incisors—drawing blood directly through the pores of exposed skin.

Shapeshifters / Skinwalkers

Beings capable of changing form, which makes them some of the most captivating supernatural creatures.

They can assume the form of humans or animals.

Playful and intensely sensual, shapeshifters possess unusually strong libidos. Because of this, they are sometimes mistaken by the Mundi for succubi or incubi.

Lycanthropes (Lycans)

Creatures who transform into animals upon reaching juvenile age whenever the moon is full.

They have little control over their transformations or behavior—especially while young—unless their alpha is nearby to restrain them through telepathic command.

The most famous are werewolves, but there are also weretigers, werebears, werelions, wereboars, werebats, werevultures, and weresharks.

Lycanthropes are extremely elusive. Sightings in Tierra Firme are exceedingly rare. Many now reside in the Twilight Dimension.

Undertakers

Beings who collect the dead from Tierra Firme and Lumina Solare, guiding them to Lumina Slava, the realm of the dead beyond the veil.

Only Ancients can see the aura of an Undertaker when they are in human form, though others can sense their psychic presence when someone is close to death.

Despite their immense power, Undertakers have only one responsibility: to escort the dead.

The punishment for abandoning this duty is their own death—making this their only weakness.

DIMENSIONS / REALMS

Tierra Firme

The world of the Mundi and the Majikal—the physical 3-dimensional realm.

Lumina Solare

A dimension inhabited by alpha beings who long ago left Tierra Firme, including deities, Ancients, Fey, and Vampyres.

The Eshikh and Speiro are also native to this realm.

Lumina Slava

The dimension of the dead.

Its light resembles an eternal twilight due to a phenomenon called the Eternal Eclipse, where two suns remain permanently covered by moons.

Majikals whose bodies still contain magical energy remain here as Undead until that energy finally fades, which may take many years.

The souls of the Mundi pass through Lumina Slava before traveling onward to the Abyss, where all the dead ultimately go.

The Abyss

The Void.

Mundi souls travel here immediately after death. Majikals in Lumina Slava follow once their remaining magical energy expires.

Eshikhan Deserts

A vast desert in Lumina Solare where the Eshikh live within immense underground tunnel networks.

Speirian Skies

Towering cliffs and rock formations that serve as the domain of the Speiro.

Twilight Dimension

A realm not formally recorded in books.

It serves as a sanctuary for rogue Majikals and supernatural beings, provided the Olden allow them to remain.

It could be compared to the Twilight Zone of the Mundi.
