Chapter 1: The Secret Inheritance

: The Secret Inheritance

The rain was falling heavily the night Amara received the letter.

She had just returned from a long day of work, tired and hungry, when she saw a strange envelope placed in front of her door. The paper looked old, almost like it had traveled for years before reaching her.

“Who would send me this?” she whispered.

She slowly opened it.

Inside was a letter written in dark ink.

Dear Amara,

If you are reading this, it means I am no longer alive. I have left something important for you. The old mansion in Ravenhill now belongs to you. But be careful… the house carries secrets that must never be awakened.

— Your Uncle Victor

Amara frowned.

“Uncle Victor?” she said softly.

She had never heard of him before.

But the letter also contained something else… a large iron key.

The next morning curiosity pushed her to travel to Ravenhill, a quiet town surrounded by dark forests.

When she finally reached the mansion, her heart started beating faster.

The house was enormous… old… and silent.

Broken windows stared at her like empty eyes.

“Maybe this is a mistake,” she muttered.

But the key in her hand began to feel strangely warm.

Slowly, she walked to the door.

She pushed the key into the rusty lock.

CLICK.

The door opened by itself.

Inside, the mansion smelled of dust and forgotten memories.

As she stepped in, the door suddenly slammed behind her.

BANG!

Amara jumped.

Then she heard something that made her blood freeze.

Footsteps.

Slow footsteps… coming from the dark hallway upstairs.

But she was supposed to be alone.

A deep voice whispered from the darkness:

“You shouldn’t have come here…”

Amara’s hands began to shake.

Because she knew one terrifying thing.

The voice did not sound human.
