Chapter 1

The First Magus

Long before cities raised their towers of stone, before kingdoms divided the land into borders, the world was ruled by forces older than the very memory of men.

In those days, magic had not yet been given a name.

Forests were as deep as green oceans, rivers ran freely between untouched mountains, and creatures that today are called legends walked openly beneath the light of the moon.

It was in this primitive world that a man died.

His name was Kam.

He was only human — one among thousands struggling to survive in a world that cared little for his existence. But fate decided that his story would not end in the frozen river where his body sank.

When the waters carried him away, something ancient awakened.

A nymph of the deep currents found his lifeless body and, moved by a feeling that not even the gods fully understood, refused to let him vanish.

She gave him something no mortal should possess.

Life.

But not life alone.

When Kam opened his eyes again, the world had changed. Or perhaps it was he who had changed the world.

The wind answered to his breath. The earth trembled beneath his steps.Water moved as if recognizing its creator.Fire bent to his will, burning with ancestral fury. And beyond all the elements, an invisible force pulsed around him — the very essence of the mystical.

Thus the first magus was born.

In the centuries that followed, new species began to emerge in the shadows of creation. Many believed they were the result of the world’s natural evolution. Others, however, whispered that certain forces awakened in that age had altered the very course of life itself. Among these new races were the Lupi, children of the moon — the werewolves — and the Draugr, creatures of the eternal night: the vampires. Between them arose a war that would span ages, leaving only blood and ashes in its wake.

Fearing the world would be destroyed, Kam created a spell so powerful that it would change the fate of all races. On a night of perigee, when a blood eclipse consumed the sky, under the light of that rare event Kam channeled the purest magic and wove one of the most powerful spells he had ever cast — a spell that would forever alter the destiny of the two species.

But balance rarely brings peace.

It only creates new forms of hatred.

Then, mysteriously, Kam disappeared.

Without his power to maintain order, the world descended once more into chaos. The vampires turned their fury against those who remained most vulnerable: the magi.

The massacre that followed would have echoed through the centuries had a mysterious queen not imposed peace among the species. Even so, that peace was fragile from the very beginning.

Even now, generations later, resentment still lives in the shadows — silent, patient, waiting for the right moment to awaken once more.

For Kam left behind more than magic.

He left a prophecy.

A promise written within the invisible lines of fate.

That one day someone would rise — someone marked by pain, someone who would carry in their hands the weight of the world — and whose choice would decide whether the light would survive...

or whether the eternal night would finally fall upon all.

And somewhere, in the shadows of the story yet to come...

that destiny has already begun to awaken.
