Red Velvet - Part 1: Prey (exquisite dark romance novel, with amazing surprising plots and lots of stomach-tickling sensations) 🔥
"An exquisite piece of art, PERFECT for every person who is crazy for a hot, dark romance. 🖤🔥 Starting with the heat from the very first chapters: Carter's great writing and fantasy, followed by a bitter taste from Huck's one-night stand, then the unfairly attractive traits of Lykos (the man with perfect skills who uses them for the "wrong" reasons, the all red flags MMC, whom we unashamedly adore and root for), and Kade's inner battles (a fine officer of the law, who mistakenly has some traiterous thoughts and a questionable behaviour - to spice things up). THIS IS GONNA BE SOOO GOOD, I said to myself while uncontrollably smiling when learning about them. 🥵 Those were just the tiny cuts I got at the beginning. Yet, the more I dove into the novel, the more surprises I found. As the story goes on, there's sooo much more that made me crack up laughing, flush my cheeks, bite my lips, kick my feet with excitement like a teenager, and stay with my mouth wide open from pleasant shocks. Sometimes it's so much suspense, yet not enough of this addictive action. This trio is breathtaking; I can't wait to find out more about them in the next books. Lykos - the possessive stalker, a dangerous man who has a soft side & Kade - the police officer with naughty behaviour behind his professionalism & Carter - the amazing feminine energy who has all the qualities to attract these two men, being smart, yet bold enough to act on her desires, much to our tastes. 🔥 All three authors perfectly know how to set us on the edge of our seats with this mesmerising plot, written with flawless style. 📚✨️ Some of the compelling intrigues that made my jaw drop, as I was astonished by these surprises: the stalker's family, the decent one-bed night between Kade and Carter, the first face-to-face encounter between Lykos & Kade, between Lykos & Carter and between all three of them at work, Layla's infuriating character and Carter's courage to overstep her, Layla's delicious attack (that got me like WHAAAAAT?!?!?! 😲😲😲 - one of the most unexpected and satisfying "get rid of that b..ch" moment in history), cliffhangers by pretty much every chapter, the ending of the first book from the series, and not to mention the never-ending glamorous chemistry, from all the casual flirtations and sensual moments to eruptive scenes that are worth melting for. 🔥🔥🔥 All the stories from Vivienne gave me those stomach tickles that I can't deny or overlook, but the stalker vibes gladly remind me of Ash (from "Eyes on Me"), which I read a year ago. Definitely a man worth remembering, just like Lykos and Kade. 🫠 Overall, this masterpiece, written by three brilliant authors (Vivienne Wren, Ember Lorelle, Nicole Woodward), is a perfect fantasy thriller for anyone who enjoys this genre, and the way the writing intertwines so beautifully from three people is purely magical. It got me sitting on pins and needles 'til the series is completed, and that's good proof that we're so hooked on it. All of Viv's works were so savoury, and how amazing this collab went definitely makes me go through Nicole's and Ember's stories as well. Can't wait to dive more into them! 📚✨️ "
