"A surprisingly good short story with a happy ending. The characters are very well written, and the story unfolds at a great pace. I did have one moment of confusion: Mateo's mom died when he was two, so why didn't Daniel have full custody of him? Who else did he stay with? It doesn't detract from the story; I'm just curious. Anyway, this is definitely worth reading. ❤️🩶"

"This really is a good story. I like the plot and the feel of the characters. There are 2 chapters that are repeated but that could just be a formatting mistake. There are a few phrases that get repeated often but it's easily overlooked for me as I liked the story and I'm sure as the author grows in her writing style there will be less. Some things to think of adding in to future books, inner dialog to under what the characters are feeling or thinking. Also, if he fell for her possibly an intimate scene or two. Nothing crazy, but maybe a kiss, or a date. It could be added at the end when it's a year later at the house and looking back at how the relationship blossomed. Just a mention of date nights, going out as a "family" to the park, movies, etc. Lots of room for growth, and it's still a good bok."
