The unwanted Beginning
THE LACK OF TRUST [PART 1=ESCAPE]
On a cold winter night, when the wind howled outside the hospital walls, a woman gave birth to a girl. Her first cry broke the silence, fragile yet brave unaware that trust would be the greatest battle of her life. The room fell silent when the doctor announced it was a girl. Her mother smiled through tears, holding the child close, but her father turned away. To him, the first child should have been a boy a name to carry forward, a pride to boast about. In that moment, trust cracked before it ever had a chance to grow.
Her mother held the baby closer, as if shielding her from the silence in the room. Ignoring the disappointment around her, she whispered softly,
“Her name is Sofiya.”
The name meant wisdom, hope, and light everything her daughter deserved, even if the world refused to see it.
Her father said nothing. He neither repeated the name nor looked at the child. To him, Sofiya was not the beginning he had wanted. But to her mother, Sofiya was everything.
When Sofiya turned ten, she finally understood a truth that had always hovered around her perhaps her father’s love was never meant for her. The realization hurt, but the poor soul accepted it quietly. She made herself a promise that day: if she could not earn her father’s pride, she would at least make her mother proud.
