The first thing I noticed when I rolled out of bed was the mountain of clothes waiting for me like a judgement committee. And right there, on my desk, sat a note in giant, aggressive letters: “You’re late. Again.” Typical.
I grabbed my notebook—the one thing that never betrays me—and muttered under my breath, ‘If they only knew the magic happening in my head…’ Today was not just any day. Today, something was about to change, and I had a front-row seat.
By the time I got to the street, the city seemed… off. People rushed past me with the usual complaints, but there was a strange shimmer in the air, like the world had put on a filter I couldn’t quite explain. And then I saw it—a small, glowing envelope lying in the middle of the sidewalk, practically humming with energy.
I bent down, curious despite myself. As soon as I touched it, a spark shot through my fingers and the world tilted for a second. My heart skipped, my notebook nearly fell, and I whispered, ‘Okay… so maybe today really is special.’
Because when magic shows up in the middle of a normal Tuesday, you don’t ask questions. You just dive in."
