Chapter 1

The early morning in Indore Madhya Pradesh. The sunlight slipped through the curtains and fell softly across the messy bedroom.

Books were scattered on the floor, a half-open school bag lay near the bed, and in the middle of it all, she slept peacefully, completely unaware of the chaos waiting outside.

Suddenly—

“Janvi! Wake up right now!”

The loud voice of her  Vrinda Roy (Badi Maa) echoed through the house.

She groaned softly, pulling the blanket over her head.

“Five more minutes…” she mumbled sleepily.

The door burst open.

“Five minutes? Your school starts in twenty minutes!”

"And me tumhe yaad dila du ki tum school ki head girl ho .... Pata nahi kis gadhe ne itni indiscipline ladki ko head girl bana diya".

Her Badi Maa stood at the doorway with her hands on her hips, glaring at the girl who looked like she hadn’t moved an inch.

“Do you plan to become a kumbh karan by sleeping all day?” she scolded.

Slowly, the girl peeked out from under the blanket, her messy hair falling over her face.

“Badi Maa… today is definitely not a good day to wake up early,” she muttered dramatically.

Badi Maa rolled her eyes.

“Stop acting like a heroine in some drama and get ready for school right now!”

With a deep sigh, she finally sat up, rubbing her eyes.

Little did she know—

Today was a very hectic day.

She dragged herself out of bed and somehow made her way to the washroom.

Within minutes, the sound of hurried brushing and running water filled the room.

“Ugh… why does school even exist… Finally just a last year of this boring school.” she mumbled with a mouth full of toothpaste.

Just then, her room door opened without a knock.

“Tu abhi tak ready nahi hui?” Arav Roy (her bhai) walked in, leaning against the door like he had all the time in the world.

She glared at him through the mirror.

“Bhai, please… subah subah lecture mat do.”

He smirked.

“Late nahi ho raha tujhe?"

Before she could reply—

“Janvi!!! Neeche aa rahi hai ya main upar aau?!”

Badi Maa’s voice echoed again, louder this time.

Both siblings froze for a second.

“Bas ab toh gayi tu,” her brother chuckled.

“Shut up!” she snapped, quickly splashing water on her face.

Within five minutes, she rushed downstairs, still fixing her hair.

The scene in the dining area was as lively as ever.

[Suresh Roy (Dada ji) sat calmly, reading his newspaper.

Shraddha Roy (Dida) and Karan Roy (Bhaiyu) were already having breakfast.

Devendra Roy (Papa) and jitendra Roy (Bade Papa) were busy discussing something over files.

Arav Roy (Her bhai) joined the table casually like he wasn’t just teasing her upstairs.

And in one corner, Savitri Roy (Dadi) peacefully sat knitting a sweater.]

It felt like a perfect family morning… except she was late.

“Finally madam aa hi gayi,” Badi Maa muttered.

She ignored the comment and quickly sat down.

“Breakfast?” Shraddha Roy (Dida) asked softly.

“Haan haan jaldi please!” she said, almost panicking.

She started eating in a rush, barely chewing properly.

“Arre dheere khao, koi train nahi chhoot rahi,” Karan Roy (her bhaiyu) teased.

She kicked his leg under the table.

Just then, her phone rang.

Jiya Calling…

She immediately picked it up.

“Kahan reh gayi tu?! Abhi tak nahi aayi! Mar war toh nahi gayi na behen!!” Jiya shouted from the other side.

She widened her eyes.

“Bas bas nikal rahi hu! 5 minutes!”

“Tu har roz yahi bolti hai!” Jiya groaned.

“I’m serious this time!” she said while grabbing her bag.

Cutting the call, she stood up in a hurry.

“Bye everyone!” she rushed out, almost tripping on the way.

“Lunch le jaa!” Badi Maa shouted from behind.

“Late ho rahi hu!” she yelled back.

And just like that—

another chaotic day had officially begun.

____________________________________________________

Today wasn’t just any ordinary day.

It was janvi's first day of Class 12 after the summer vacations—a year that was supposed to be serious, disciplined, and focused.

Unfortunately, Janvi was none of those things.

She was known for being mischievous, carefree, and completely indisciplined. A proud backbencher, she had spent most of her school life laughing during lectures, passing notes, and barely paying attention.

And yet—

Somehow, fate had a strange sense of humor.

Because this year, she had been appointed as the Head Girl.

Even she didn’t know how it happened.

“Average in studies, zero discipline, and still Head Girl… wow,” she muttered to herself while rushing towards school.

Shaking her head, she adjusted her bag and stepped inside the school gates.

The campus was buzzing with energy. Students were laughing, hugging their friends after the long break, and teachers were already trying to bring order to the chaos.

But her eyes stopped at one person.

Standing near the entrance, talking to a teacher with a calm and composed expression, was Ishaan.

The Head Boy.

Unlike her, he was everything a perfect student should be—

disciplined, intelligent, responsible, and annoyingly calm.

She rolled her eyes slightly.

“Of course… they had to pair me with him,” she mumbled.

As if sensing her presence, Ishaan looked up.

For a brief second, their eyes met.

His expression was unreadable—calm, slightly curious.

Hers?

A mix of annoyance and challenge.

And in that moment—

Neither of them knew that this unexpected partnership was about to turn their lives into complete chaos.

The school corridors were buzzing with noise as students rushed to their classes.

Janvi entered her classroom, her eyes instantly scanning for her people.

“Finally!” Jiya waved dramatically. “Madam Head Girl decided to show up.”

Janvi rolled her eyes and dropped her bag on the last bench.

“Relax, I’m here before attendance. That’s what matters.”

Ishaan, sitting beside her, looked at her calmly.

“You’re the Head Girl now. Try acting like one.”

Janvi smirked.

“You handle the ‘head’ part, I’ll handle the ‘girl’ part.”

Dhruv burst out laughing from the next row, while Naincy shook her head.

“God help this school,” she muttered.

Meanwhile, Jiya and Sanidhya were already busy gossiping in their corner.

Within minutes, the class started filling up.

Some students were excited, some were sleepy… and most of them were already tired thinking about studies.

Just then—

The classroom door opened.

“Good morning, class.”

“Good morning, sir…” the class replied half-heartedly.

“Take your seats. We’ll begin with Accounts.”

A collective groan filled the room.

“First day pe hi Accounts? Seriously?” someone whispered.

“Boring subject yaar…” another voice came from the back.

Janvi leaned back in her chair.

“Best way to start the year—by sleeping.”

Ishaan gave her a look.

“Don’t even think about it.”

She ignored him and opened her notebook… just for show.

The teacher started explaining basic concepts, writing on the board while the class slowly lost interest.

Behind him—

Notes were being passed.

Some students were doodling.

A few were whispering non-stop.

“Head Girl,” Ishaan whispered, nudging her.

“What?” she whispered back.

“Control your class.”

Janvi glanced around lazily.

“Class, thoda shaant ho jao…” she said without even standing up.

No one listened.

She shrugged.

“See? Not my problem.”

After what felt like forever, the bell finally rang.

“Thank God,” Dhruv said dramatically.

“Survived Accounts, barely,” Jiya added.

“Next is Economics,” Naincy reminded.

“Great. Another boring lecture,” Janvi sighed.

The next few lectures passed in a similar way—

A little studying,

A lot of talking,

And constant teasing between friends.

Janvi tried acting responsible a few times… but gave up within minutes.

“Head Girl banne ka koi fayda nahi hai,” she muttered.

Ishaan smirked slightly.

“I knew it.”

Finally—

The lunch bell rang.

The entire class came alive instantly.

“Lunchhh!” Jiya almost shouted.

Within seconds, desks were rearranged, tiffins were opened, and the classroom turned into chaos again.

Janvi opened her lunch box.

“Okay, who’s sharing what?”

“Depends,” Dhruv said. “What did you bring?”

“Paratha.”

“Deal,” he said, already reaching for it.

Naincy rolled her eyes.

“Tum log kabhi nahi sudhroge.”

Jiya leaned closer.

“So… new year, new drama?”

Janvi smirked slightly.

“Obviously.”

And somewhere between laughter, food, and endless conversations—

No one realized that this normal, chaotic school day…

Was just the beginning of something much bigger.

Lunch break ended way too quickly.

“Why does time fly only during lunch?” Jiya groaned, closing her tiffin.

“Because that’s the only happy part of school,” Dhruv replied dramatically.

Janvi leaned back in her chair.

“I vote we skip the rest of the day.”

“Head Girl,” Ishaan said, raising an eyebrow.

She sighed.

“Okay fine… I’ll not officially skip.”

The next lectures began, but the class had already lost all interest.

Half the students were sleepy,

Some were still chatting,

And a few were just staring blankly at the board.

In between—

A small chaos broke out when two students started arguing over notes.

“Arre chup na yaar!” someone shouted.

The teacher turned around sharply.

“What is going on there?”

The entire class went silent.

Ishaan immediately stood up.

“Sorry sir, I’ll handle it.”

He walked over, separated them, and made them sit quietly.

Everything went back to normal within seconds.

Meanwhile—

Janvi was busy drawing random doodles in her notebook.

Ishaan returned to his seat and looked at her.

“You could’ve helped.”

She didn’t even look up.

“I’m emotionally supporting you from here.”

He sighed.

Finally—

The last bell rang.

For a second, there was silence…

And then—

“DISMISSAL!” someone shouted.

The entire class burst into life again.

Students rushed out, grabbing their bags, laughing, pushing each other.

Janvi stood up lazily.

“Freedom at last.”

Outside, near the school buses—

Chaos was at its peak.

Students were running, shouting, calling out their friends.

Teachers were trying to manage lines.

And in the middle of all that—

Ishaan was doing his duty.

“Stand in line!”

“Don’t push!”

“Wait for your bus!”

He was actually trying to maintain order like a proper Head Boy.

Meanwhile—

Janvi stood a little far away with her friends.

“Look at him,” Dhruv said. “Kitna sincere hai.”

Jiya laughed.

“And look at our Head Girl.”

Janvi flipped her hair dramatically.

“I believe in giving others opportunities to shine.”

Naincy shook her head.

“Unbelievable.”

“Janvi!” Ishaan called out from a distance.

She pretended not to hear.

“JANVI!”

She turned slowly.

“What?”

“Come here and help!”

She smiled sweetly.

“You’re doing great. Keep going.”

And before he could say anything—

She grabbed Jiya’s hand.

“Chal, bus miss ho jayegi.”

“Tu toh waise bhi kuch nahi karne wali thi,” Jiya laughed.

They quickly boarded their bus.

Janvi took her usual seat near the window, completely relaxed.

Outside, Ishaan was still managing the crowd.

She watched him for a second and smirked.

“Poor guy.”

Jiya nudged her.

“You’re enjoying this, aren’t you?”

“A little,” she admitted.

As the bus finally started moving—

The noise slowly faded behind.

Janvi leaned her head against the window, letting the wind hit her face.

A small smile played on her lips.

First day of school—

Complete chaos ✔️

No responsibilities taken ✔️

Full enjoyment ✔️

“Perfect start,” she whispered.

But deep inside—

She had no idea that very soon…

This carefree attitude of hers

Was going to clash with something much bigger.
