Author's Note: Welcome to the Firebound Circle!

Welcome to the Firebound Circle, my friend.
The fire is built low and wide, fed with birch and resin. You are standing on ground still warm from the day, barefoot and welcomed. You have entered the circle.
This story has lived in my mind for a long time. It is a journey into the pre-Christian Viking world, but seen through a lens we rarely get to visit: the eyes of a female physician.
The protagonist, Linde, is a woman who sees the world in patterns, clinical details, and sensory intensity. In modern terms, we would call her high-functioning ASD; in the 10th century, she is simply a woman with a beautiful mind navigating a world of mystery, superstition, herbal medicine, and shifting power. As an author with ASD, Linde’s “Internal Encyclopedia” and her moments of internal analysis are my own.
A few things to know before the dew falls:
The Research: While this is a work of fiction and romance, the medical practices and the “tactile reality” of the era are rooted in deep historical research. From the Kupolė Circle (some of Europe’s last pagan rituals) to the use of yarrow and birch, I wanted the world to feel as raw and real as possible.
The Journey: This is Book One: Emerald to Steel. It is an epic slow-burn romance, but it is also a story of reclamation and finding one’s voice in a world that tries to silence it.
The Schedule: I will be releasing new chapters daily.
If you enjoy the intersection of history, medicine, and neurodivergence, I would love to hear your thoughts in the comments. Your feedback is what breathes life into these characters and keeps the fire in this circle burning.
Thank you for stepping into the light with me.
