A Star Diary

The universe always gave me chills. I have heard several folktales narrated by my Grams as she took me on a stroll around the Garden of Light, the most enormous and the brightest garden in the whole galaxy, the Mercurian Galaxy. I was always bedazzled by those tales and was also scared at the same time. She would always say, " We are the diamonds who deserve to shine, and you know what we shine brighter when we find the special one for us. I glistened brighter when I found your grandpa. I still remember that day when we first met and at that moment itself I knew, we knew that we have found each other."

I was always enchanted by her stories and moreover I cherished the stories of her and grandpa. But I could also sniff the stench of pain dissolved in them, " But you should always be careful of those aliens who hunt us and kill us, like they did to your grandpa. He sacrificed himself for me. My baby, find someone who can love you so much and also provide you with protection. We are the diamonds that brighten night sky, we bring light to the hopeless life of the universe beings, but still they hunt us, exploit us and try to generate profit out of us. So always beware of them."

It was a serene and a calm morning, a kind of a morning that I like and cherish. I have always loved to bathe in the light of the Zen, the brightest and the mightiest star of the star universe. Its brightness brought heat and tremendous light to our world. My Grams always used to say, " You have to be the light like the Zen for our people. The Star World needs a Star Diamond to breathe and without it its survival is nothing. So fight hard and harder for your survival because your existence is important." She would always make me remember the royal lineage of our family and also that we are the only diamond stars in the universe.

Despite the day opening with an optimistic note, a ominous siren was rung, when the aliens plundered and invaded our land. They came with their advanced arms and ammunitions. They marched donning grenades and guns and killed almost anybody who stood on their way. They were able to breach the Star Palace's security and entered the Royal chambers. Here too their ruthlessness held no bounds. They danced perpetrating a masquerade even within the Royal courts. They bloodied the Royal temple with innocent's blood. And finally they came for me. I was scared as I was never trained for warfare, since star diamonds are the harbinger of peace, we symbolize tenderness and timidness. But then I remembered what my Grams had taught me and revealed to me, " If it ever happens that the aliens get close to you, then the palace has been dug with a secret tunnel that leads to the Star Ocean, there take the Royal Cruise and fare into the vast world of wilderness, but you should always be alert as that world is full of danger and tribulations. And never reveal your true self to the world. Fight hard and harder for your survival, my little one,"
