A MARRIAGE HE NEVER CHOSE.

Kyle Vablo was not a man who feared consequences.

In the ruthless world of business, fear was a weakness and Kyle had carved his empire by crushing anything that resembled it. Deals, rivals, risks… even death itself didn’t shake him. People said he walked like a man who had already faced the worst life could offer and won.

So when he returned home after weeks of work, tired but composed, he expected silence, maybe a warm meal, and nothing more.

Instead, he found a document placed neatly on the table.

A marriage certificate.

At first, he thought it was a mistake.

Then he read his name.

And hers.

Neveah ivles.

The glass in his hand shattered before he even realized he’d clenched it too hard.

“What is this?” his voice was low, but it carried the weight of a storm.

His parents stood there, nervous but firm. They spoke of tradition, of responsibility, of a “good girl” who would balance his life. Someone calm. Someone patient.

Someone who wouldn’t challenge him.

That was their mistake.

Kyle didn’t need balance. He needed control.

Everything on the table went crashing to the floor, papers, glass, a ceramic bowl that shattered into uneven pieces.

“Cancel it,” he said coldly.

But it wasn’t that simple.

The marriage was already legal.

Signed. Registered. Done.

And then… she appeared.

Standing quietly near the doorway.

Neveah.

She didn’t look like someone who had just been thrown into a storm. Her expression was calm, almost distant. Her long hair was loosely tied, and her hands delicate but marked with faint traces of clay rested gently in front of her.

She didn’t speak.

She couldn’t.

Kyle’s sharp gaze fell on her, expecting fear. Most people flinched under it.

She didn’t.

Instead, she simply looked at him steady, quiet, unshaken.

That irritated him more than anything else.

“You,” he said, stepping closer. “Do you even understand what this is?”

She nodded.

A simple, small movement.

No drama. No pleading.

Just acceptance.

His jaw tightened. “And you agreed to this?”

Another nod.

Silence stretched between them, thick and heavy.

Kyle laughed once, dry, humorless. “Of course you did.”

He turned away, running a hand through his hair, trying to contain the anger rising inside him.

A mute wife.

A stranger.

A decision made without him.

Everything about this situation screamed loss of control.

And Kyle Vablo never lost control.

Behind him, Neveah quietly stepped forward. She bent down and began picking up the broken pieces of the ceramic bowl he had shattered.

Carefully.

Patiently.

As if it wasn’t broken beyond repair.

Kyle watched her for a moment.

Something about it… annoyed him.

Or maybe it unsettled him.

Because while he destroyed things without hesitation.

She looked like someone who knew how to put, them back together.

He turned away sharply.

“This won’t last,” he said, more to himself than anyone else.

Neveah didn’t react.

But her fingers paused for just a second over a sharp fragment

Before she continued, just as calm as before.
