Chapter 1
Minnerfort Island
Space Command and Control Center
30 Minutes After the Fall of Griodor
After Alfa has just cut communications with Odd Angele, he looks up into the morning sky, watching the glowing cloud slowly fade into the blue sky after he had just sent his four friends to space; he has to reassure himself that his four friends will make it to Pheshan T Zero 3 H. The people that live there are Earthlings, and they call their home Earth, also known as the pale blue dot. He still remembered the time he first visited the planet. To him Earth was just a lower budget version of Kannilia.
Well, it’s no time to stand around. He thought to himself. I’ll have to get out of here before more show up.
Eventually, Alfa walks away from the command and control center, heading out towards the shore. He looked around his surroundings, seeing nothing but some green grass and trees scattered around the area. The grass stretched out to the sea, and the trees created a natural barrier by the sea. The walk only lasted a few minutes, as he slowly paced his way toward the shoreline. The sun began to rise higher, creating a clear blue sky as clouds slowly began to drift away. With dead bodies being left behind at the command and control center, seagulls began to fly in from their hiding spots, feasting on dead Ostana soldiers and Ethain contract guards.
Once Alfa arrived at the beach, he spotted three large strike craft capable of holding 30 troops. Damn, no wonder so many tried to kill me, Alfa said to himself.
He climbed up onto the strike craft that was further to his left. He quickly cocks the new weapon he picked up back from the fight after he gave Abrariel his primary rifle. The rifle that he was carrying was a Fusion Carbine Energy-Based Rifle (FCE). He gave Abrariel his Warrior Carbine, a more advanced variant typically used by the Marine Special Forces. If you compared it to Earth’s assault rifles, it looked like an AR-15, just higher tech and capable of firing energy-based ammo.
As he cleared the strike craft that almost looked like a yacht, he noticed that the area was clear and there were no enemies in it. He had to get out of the island. But first, he must destroy the other two vessels before leaving the island. He got off the vessel, landed in the water that went up to his knees and began working his way toward the other two strike craft. His main goal was to destroy the hulls and have it take in water so it can no longer be operational. He had grabbed the two grenades from his waist that he stocked up at the Command Center. Immediately, Alfa fires his Yoploysium, one of Kannilia’s gases, to provide the Kannilian’s lift with their Vector Suits.
Once Alfa pulled the pins from the grenades, he tossed them between the two-strike craft that he wouldn’t use. He fired another burst of gas and landed back on the boat that he would be taking. As he landed, the two grenades exploded, causing the water to splash into the air and the shrapnel damaging the hulls of the two-strike craft.
Before Alfa was about to start his boat, he realized he wouldn’t be able to get out to sea unless he pushed the barge out further into the ocean. Again, he jumped off the watercraft, went to the front of the vessel, and with the help of his vector suit using the suit’s hydraulic exo-skeleton to heave the vessel into deeper water. Even though the battle suit sustained some damage, it could still operate. It reminded him of how he saw Abrariel and Gadriel wounded, as they both wore almost no armor on them. The two were wounded after having to face off a deadly battle several hours ago.
Once he pushed the ship deeper, the water got up to his waist. He fired his gas and climbed into the strike craft. He then quickly headed to the captains seat, turned the key to the right that the rebels left behind, and began to start up without any problems.
Once the strike craft was up and running, he put it in reverse and began turning the ship, with its nose facing towards the distant mainland of the former Griodor. He then put the vessel back into forward drive and pushed it to full throttle.
He looked at the systems, including the radar, ensuring everything was clear as he set the strike craft to autopilot. Once he let the boat drive on its own, he checked the GPS platform that was on the right side of the craft’s operating system. He moved forward and looked at what he was able to see. His main goal was to arrive at a village at night and steal some supplies so he wouldn’t get easily spotted by any of the Ostana personnel or any traitors of Griodor. The only place he could find was a mining town called Asiha. Asiha is or at least was Griodor’s fourth largest mining town known on the Continent of Samoa. Now that the place was evacuated due to the civil war, he could travel to the city as fewer citizens lived there.
