Foreword

Some days, you wake up and your whole world changes.

For Willow, it started with a funeral. Then a willow tree. Then the impossible truth that everything she thought she knew about her life—about her mother, her father, herself—was a lie.

This is a story about a fifteen-year-old girl who loses everything and discovers she was never meant to have a normal life in the first place. It’s about grief that doesn’t get easier just because magic exists. It’s about learning that the people you trust are keeping secrets. And it’s about surviving when the universe throws you into a world you never asked to be part of.

Will doesn’t get a choice. She doesn’t get time to process. She doesn’t get to say no.

But she does get to fight.

This isn’t a story about a chosen one who embraces her destiny with grace. This is a story about a scared, angry, grieving teenager who gets dragged into a world of spirits and power—and decides that if she’s going to be stuck in it, she’s going to survive it on her own terms.

Will’s journey is messy. It’s raw. It’s real.

And it starts now.

Welcome to the Spirit Realm.

Try to keep up.
