Beautifully earned romance
"Stories with a power imbalance between the couple can become very icky very fast. I'm glad to say that's NOT the case here. Even though Alex is a little older than Soti (the age gap isn't that big, with the younger guy already in his mid-20s) and filthy rich, he is such a green flag that their relationship never — not for a single moment — feels coercive. He does mess up, big time actually, but there's always context to it. It never feels manipulative, which is sadly so common in today's "billionaire romances". You can tell he is super respectful, cares deeply about Soti, and is genuinely lost at what to do sometimes, but he is always trying his best. As for Soti himself, he has so much nuance. He is awkward, emotional, and insecure, but never annoying, stupid, or unlikable. You can tell he's simply a person slightly inexperienced in love and relationships. He is hyper-aware of the class difference (which I love about this story), but at the same time, he is eager to let himself go and enjoy life with Alex. It was so nice to see him break out of his shell. The way the author threads the story is so skilled that although there are some tropes, nothing ever feels cliché or unearned. I don't know how she pulls it off, but it's a joy to read. Highly recommend."
