Chapter 1
The Adventure of the Winged Camel and the Forgetful Monster
Once upon a time, three young children lost their way while playing in the deep, emerald woods. As the sun began to set, filling the forest with long, creeping shadows, they stumbled upon an unbelievable creature: a Winged Camel. But this majestic beast was in trouble; one of its magnificent wings was torn to pieces. The camel looked anxious and frantic because a forgetful but very dangerous monster was hunting it.
Seeing the creature's pain, the children decided to help. "We don't leave the wounded behind," the eldest said firmly. However, since the camel couldn't fly, they knew the monster would catch them soon.
They came up with a brilliant plan. They led the camel to a hidden pond in the forest. They gave the camel a hollow reed to breathe through and told it to submerge under the water, hiding it completely from view. Then, using thick, sturdy leaves and thin tree branches, they crafted a temporary, artificial wing. It was a makeshift solution, but it would be enough to get the camel off the ground for a short while.
Just then, the ground began to tremble. The heavy thuds of the monster’s footsteps echoed through the trees. The monster was so furious that it uprooted trees and scared away every bird in sight. When it reached the pond and couldn't find the camel, it flew into a rage. In the chaos, one of the children made a terrible mistake—he tripped over a rock and was snatched up by the beast!
The monster carried the boy away immediately. However, this monster had a very peculiar trait: it was incredibly forgetful. Within minutes, it would forget exactly what it was carrying in its giant hands.
By the time they reached the monster's lair, the little boy was in a daze. While trying to find his way in the dark, he accidentally wandered right into the monster’s massive ear! He got stuck deep inside the ear canal. When he finally woke up, he was terrified; the ear was filled with sticky wax and grime, making it impossible to climb out. Every time he moved, the monster felt a strange tickle, but it could never remember why it was bothered.
Driven mad by the irritation, the monster threw fits of rage, banging its head against the walls until the whole house shook. Inside, the boy was trapped and crying for help.
Meanwhile, the other two children prepared the wounded camel. With its leaf-wing, the camel managed to fly one last time. But they knew they needed an ally to defeat the beast. They called upon Uncle Frog, a wise and lightning-fast creature who lived by the lake.
When Uncle Frog heard the plan, he croaked, "Rescuing someone from a monster’s ear? Difficult, but not impossible!"
Together, riding on the camel’s back, they flew toward the monster’s house. Soaring high above, the camel tossed a magical rope around the monster's neck. They tied the other end to a massive tree, pinning the beast to the ground. The monster roared in fury, but it was trapped.
Now it was Uncle Frog's turn. With a mighty leap, he landed on the monster’s shoulder. He flicked his long, ten-meter tongue deep into the monster's ear and snatched the boy out in a flash! The boy was sobbing, but he was finally safe.
The monster was so busy struggling against its knots that it didn't notice the camel's leaf-wing glowing in the moonlight. The makeshift wing had fulfilled its purpose. Together, the heroes retreated back into the safety of the forest.
The Winged Camel decided to make the forest its permanent home. Uncle Frog was declared a hero, and the children returned to their village, carrying a story they would never, ever forget.i
