The Beginning
Story of a Girl (Part 1)
Once upon a time, there was a little girl who was born in a small town. She was the only daughter in her family. It may sound like a perfect and happy life, but in reality, it was very different. For some reasons, her childhood was not easy. It was full of confusion, fear, and loneliness.
When she was in Class 1, her parents decided to send her to a hostel. They believed it would be good for her, especially because her mother’s sister had told them that hostel life helps children grow better. But no one really understood how difficult it would be for such a small child.
From being her father’s little princess, living peacefully with just her mother, father, and grandfather, she suddenly had to move to a completely new place. A place full of strangers. For any child, the first step away from home is always a little scary but for her, it was much more than that.
Before she left for the hostel, her life until UKG was very different. Her home was far away from the town, deep inside a forest. There were no other houses nearby only trees, silence, and nature all around. It was a beautiful and peaceful place, but also very isolated.
There was not even a small shop nearby. To buy groceries, they had to walk a very long distance. The road was narrow, only meant for walking, and no vehicles could pass through. During the rainy season, the path would become muddy and slippery. In winter, it would be covered with snow, making it even more difficult.
Despite all this, the little girl had to walk more than 3 kilometers every day to go to school. But she was not alone. Her mother had arranged for a caretaker a young man who stayed with them. Let’s call him “bro.”
“Bro” took care of her like his own little sister. Every day, he would carry her on his back, walk all the way to school, bring her milk, and safely take her back home. He even lived with her family, and slowly, he became like their first son.
Sometimes, her father or grandfather would also take her to school. But whenever her father dropped her at the school gate, she would start crying. She would hold his hand tightly and refuse to let go, begging to go back home. It was always hard for her to stay.
The teachers and school staff had to try many ways to calm her down. Sometimes they even scared her playfully showing fake insects or mice and saying, “If you don’t stop crying, they will bite you.” Slowly, she would stop crying, but inside, she still wanted to run back home.
But like every child, once she returned home, she would happily share her day what she learned, what happened, and all the little things that made her smile.
She was living in her own small world, safe and familiar…
not knowing that very soon, everything was about to change.
