Chapter 1

lay on my bed twisting a pencil around in my fingers. Thoughts flew through my head. I'm finally going to escape, I don't have a plan, I don't have any supplies. I have no idea how I'm going to do it but I am. I heard the curtain pull back I sat up and hit my head on the bunk above me. I rubbed my head. A shaggy haired male looked at me in amusement.

"It's not that funny," I complained

He laughed

"Yea, it was."

I sighed

"Whatever," I muttered

He stopped smiling

"Are you ok."

I shrugged my shoulders and rubbed my head, where a bump started to form. I sighed.

"What?"

"There's a bump," I wined

He looked at me in mock sympathy.

"Oh no," he laughed to him self

I scoffed and rolled eyes

"What do you want, James."

I smiled as I said his name. I didn't like him of course. He was my best friend, besides he had a girlfriend. Meadow was beautiful, with long dirty blond hair, and dark green eyes. I have two different colored eyes, I'm a freak. I could never compete with her if I did like him, which I don't.

"I don't know. I just wanted to talk."

"About what?" I plopped back on to the bed

He sat beside me

"Me and Meadow are leaving tonight. I want you to come with us." He whispered

My heart pounded. That was direct.

"You can't just leave," I squeezed out of my throat.

"Why not. You were gonna leave...without me," he glared. I squeezed my eyes shut, my heart pounding. I felt his eyes bore into me.

"How did you know," I whispered

He scoffed

"You told me where you hide your journal when we were a kid."

I didn't think he would remember that.

"You've always been against disobeying the school. I thought you would tell Mother."

He eyed me strangely. I wish I could tell what he was thinking, but I never could. Somehow he always knew what I was thinking. I thought it was adorable but at times it was annoying.

"I would never do that," he looked disheartened that I would accuse him. I smiled a little at this, he would never betray me.

"What happens, if say hypothetically, I did escape with you-"

"And Meadow," he added

"Right and Meadow. If I come what would happen."

He furrowed his eyebrows

"I don't know, I guess we'd just be together and we'd figure it out."

Me and James, escaping from the school tonight. And Meadow. A little voice in my head shouted. I inwardly sighed. Me, James, and Meadow, escaping from the school tonight. Sound like a dream come true.

"I guess its a plan then."

He shook his head.

"I only I were that simple," he reached into his back pocket and pulled out a sheet of folded paper. He looked around before unfolding it and spreading it out on the bed. My eyes widened. What laid out in front of me was a map of The School.

Hey everyone, this chapter is definitely on the shorter side, but this is my first book I'm ever sharing publicly so be kind. Of course if I make any grammar mistakes please let me know.

I do appreciate any feedback I receive but this is my book so please don't make any out of the blue requests for what should happen next.

I'll try to post a new chapter every week but I may miss a little.

Anyway, love y'all. <3
