During the school post-production phase, the school reportedly outlined plans for four years of follow-up development. However, at the time, only a second year of high school was seriously considered.
Interestingly, the continuation of the “Abdulla” storyline was set to move forward regardless of the early performance of the secondary education arc at Abu Dhabi Secondary School. If Abdulla’s storyline proved successful, the follow-up would receive a full theatrical-style release. If it performed poorly, it would instead be released in a more limited format.
Due to strong interest, Grade 10/D was quickly greenlit and scheduled for a fall 2020 release. Upon release, the sequel achieved even greater success in the education storyline, becoming one of the most notable sophomore-year arcs in the school’s history.
Two remaining sequels were planned for release in August 2021 and September 2022 — titled Grade 11/D General and Grade 12/D Chemistry, respectively, at Abu Dhabi Secondary School.
Unlike earlier installments, both received mixed reviews from critics. The first of the two was especially less well received by audiences and long-time fans of the “Abdulla” storyline. While both sequels still achieved moderate success, their popularity showed a noticeable decline compared to earlier years.
A further installment focusing on National Service UAE / College life was reportedly planned for September 2023, intended to serve as a transitional arc following high school and leading into the events after graduation. However, this version was eventually scrapped after it was decided that Grade 12/D Chemistry would serve as the final chapter of the high school storyline.
Despite this, early plans for an HCT college/workplace storyline were still in development during 2023. A script was reportedly completed in August 2023, with Glow confirming a potential release window between August 2023 and 2024. However, due to major studio management changes and restructuring, the project entered development delay.
The workplace storyline was not officially confirmed until 2024, obviously planned for a July 2024 release, but it was later delayed to October 2024.
