SINGULARITY & TRAVERSAL
…the underwear, he had not changed for five days…someone who saw his shapely body and noticed the dog tag, which was appearing from his shirt that widened by his chest as if it wanted to escape, would have thought that he was or had been a soldier. They were not exactly wrong, of course, but he was so much more than that.
…not more fun than looking at nothing but the battery icon on a fully charged phone and waiting for it to power down as the battery slowly decreased…even though it was getting more and more boring; if he had to be bored, then he would be bored…
When the ritual of looking at himself while touching his short beard was over, he tried to smile in the mirror. He surprised even himself with how easily he could do it in such a short time…He was ready to head out, having washed down his breakfast with a carton of mixed juice…
…“Another slave, and he thinks he’s smart…Even if he gets rich by ripping everyone else off, he’ll never be able to escape from being a slave.” He had clenched his left hand, making a fist…into the guy’s grinning teeth…
“…Oh, despite such beauty, how she made it to this age without anyone touching her, I just don’t understand…”…he cared about the meaning of life, his future, the feelings of others, or what the world had become only as much as a good morning message sent by a total stranger for him, to someone else he would never even know.
…her modern prince on a white horse, was nothing more than the penniless son of a mediocre clerk…even if all the secrets of life and the universe were written in it, he was going to delete the message from this girl…after a single glance at her picture.
…not see him staring at herself…handkerchief which was adorned with secretions containing all sorts of viruses…spent her life in the beds of lovers…A few of them were married…sucking the life out of him…innocently…not as passionate as he was.
“…I was terrified that he’d wish me a good trip…”…began to play at low volume on the bus. No one noticed this, including the driver…little-known track had never been played on the radio…man who had boarded from the…superior to the hollow hits popular at the time, he thought “… he’ll see life’s true colors…If he’s already listening to quality…”
…He had taken a dislike to them…hair cut irregularly like cartoon characters and dyed in colors that did not look very nice…“…The grandchildren of people who used to brand and ring animals…are now branding themselves like animals…”…so well that, despite not…being cartographic engineers, they could draw it on a blank sheet of paper…
…They had left their last location, an illegal weed farm…never escape being the pawns of both themselves and others. But they were considered fortunate; it was not very likely for them to live long this way.
…The clouds gathered as if something bad was going to happen soon, shielding the earth from the attacking sunlight…“…It’s not possible to prevent this anyway, that’s how it works.”…comfort in the wet coolness he felt on his forehead…
…“…bet she’s heading…some old geezer in his seventies, just like her…” He was wrong, on both counts…never cheated on him…The truth was, most people were cut from the same cloth, yet some still found him unsettling…product of her own naivety…shared a mutual dislike…her potential grandchildren had been drowned in public latrines before they were even born…
…a fairly attractive woman…he washed her face with his gaze and gave her a dry smile. “…might not be as innocent as she is, but a woman is a woman; they all look the same when they’re naked anyway.”…she just could not help falling in love…The girl was considered lucky, as his pursuits prevented a potential wound to the heart before it could even start bleeding.
…“…otherwise, they’re bound to have another stressful day.”…“…idiot driver just lacks the basic competence to steer. Who knows?”…most people got bored quickly behind the wheel. In fact, most accidents happened…
…victims of a rushed decision they thought was right at the time…though in the absence of affection…their marriage was over, they would remain bound as husband and wife…living proof that marriage was the true assassin of love…this was “the last stop before the stress”.
…“Insufferably sluggish, I wouldn’t want to live long enough to reach that age, honestly.”…“Hold on, only two stops left.” but it did not work. Memories…took him back nearly twenty years…
...memorize useless information that would be forgotten in no time…a purpose in life…host of wretched students and professors…Plus, by risking his life…chance to easily escape all this confusing mess simply by dying. He definitely could not be a slave, but since the system had branded him as one from birth, he would never get out of his chains…how hard he tried…
…the boy completely ignored his offer. A young woman, whose face he could only see halfway, sat in the seat instead…a bit frightened of him…“Maybe another time, with someone like her...”…Even if they could not dance, she had already managed to spend a glittering night…
…the driver seemed to be the most comfortable, but the man would not have wanted to be in his shoes…Since all cities were so similar as if they bore an uncanny likeness…technological marvel called navigation…someone else could easily do the same and pinpoint his whereabouts…
