When her two best friends show up and act like everything’s normal, Nikki’s world tips further and further on its axis by the minute. And apparently, she has these powers or magick now, that she never asked for and is placing her in the middle of a decades-long war that she’s supposed to help bring it to an end. Except she can barely seem to stay alive for more than a few weeks at a time. Emergence is the second part in a 3-part mature, supernatural romantasy. It is a slow burn, plot-heavy novel with themes of enemies to lovers, forced proximity, and a strong female main character with a harrowing back story.
