Summary

"The Part of Me I Left Behind" is a reflective and emotional piece about growth and self-discovery. The narrator decides to let go of the fearful and insecure version of herself from the past — the girl who doubted her purpose, compared herself to others, and hid behind fear and disappointment. She chooses instead to focus on succeeding, living life to the fullest, and discovering who she truly is. Through metaphors like a garden and flowers, she explains that persistence, faith, and learning from failures will eventually lead to peace, happiness, and success. The story encourages readers to stop comparing themselves to others and embrace their own personal journey.

Chapter 1

I'm finally letting everything go.

I'm finally filling that empty gap of that 9-year-old girl. I have finally decided to put aside all the fear and focus on the goal.

You might be wondering what the goal is.

The goal is in "succeeding." Yes, you heard me right, I said "succeeding." That's the main goal I have in life. My second goal is "living life to the fullest." And my third goal is "discovering the other part of me."

What I wouldn't want is to be the same girl back in 2020. That girl who thought she had no purpose in this world. That little girl who limited herself from dreaming big.

The little girl that would always hide under that bridge. That bridge of fear, disappointment, failure, and shattered dreams. That girl who compared herself to everyone else. She really never cared about her happiness; all she wanted was to fit in. All she wanted was to be seen.

But I'm telling you right now. I'm finally letting go of that girl. Yes, I will miss her, because it is in her that I learned a lot. Sometimes we need the rain to know we miss the sun. Sometimes we need the heartbreak to know that we loved so much.

You might be wondering what took her all those years to know this. But let me tell you, as long as you live, there is a possibility of changing, there is a possibility of a second chance.

And who knows, if you keep trying and learning and accepting your failures, your garden will definitely bear flowers.

When I mean flowers, I'm talking about (peace, love, happiness, joy, excellence, wealth, good health, achieved desires, and every good thing you ever wanted).

And when I talk about a garden, I'm talking about your life.

Trust me, every successful person out there had to rise up more than once in life. They went through fire and rain just to succeed. Everyone has their seasons, don't compare yourself to others.

Some people use two months to get rich, to get famous. Some use one year. It really does matter. The secret behind it is that they never gave up. They kept going, even when life was about to drown them down, they remembered the goals they set ahead of their life, and they believed they can achieve it, and then they walked towards it. With faith, humbleness, humility, and gratitude.

Life is a personal race, someone might run beside you, but not with you.

Life is yours, do not compare it with others. For no one knows what another goes through.

You might see rich, famous people, but you still don't know what they all go through.

You will succeed. Have faith.

And be consistent with your goals, and with yourself.
